I wrote a fairly short article about them for an upcoming S&P. I didn't include a lot of background information though, preferring instead to give the bare bones and some game stats so that others can flesh them out more

And Morden: Where were the Victorys, the Dreadnoughts, and the Sparati Cylinders? Off camera. :P I might have to check my WEG material again, but I think there's still room for the Victory class star destroyers. Dreadnaughts were relatively minor. The only thing that makes them at all important was...

I prefer to think of this as a situation similar to Star Wars - everything is canon unless the creator contradicts it later on. Back in the '80s and the '90s West End Games built up a rich universe based on the Star Wars movies, which included new ships, new aliens, entire worlds and systems, assign...

I believe that when we leave a place a part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in these halls, when it is quiet and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all of our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will li...

Warlock class. Seriously. Give him one of the best ships in the fleet. Just don't tell him that Earthforce considers the ship and it's crew expendable. Make this more of a curse than anything else. Put them on an ongoing mission that is likely to get them killed sooner of later. Or, put some other c...

Fear crept into my heart when I heard that there would be a second edition. Then, rather than panic and start in with cries of "The sky is falling!" I read some material, asked some questions, and decided to give it as much of a good hard look before passing judgment. Granted, it isn't out yet, but ...

And can we please, please, please have a Thirdspace book???? :D Considering how important the original invasion was and the links to the Gate at B5, the Hand, and the hints that there might be more of this stuff lying around, this should make a great sourcebook (not to mention some very nice miniat...

i think many tv series and films have done mistakes ther. buy constatly trying to make somthing thats bigger and bader I still think that this was all from their own point of view. Either they're exaggerating their power, or they're just making a comment about the physical appearance of the shadows.

The Earthforce Campaign book is, in my mind, just as valuable as the Earth Alliance Fact Book. If you plan to run an Earthforce campaign, it's a must-have.

Give them time. Sooner or later Mongoose will run out of stuff to cover in the "current" (meaning B5-ere and connected time periods) B5 universe, and then they might take a closer look at the first ones and their history... as long as they get enough players(=potential customers) shouting for it th...

Morden, can you provide me with a summery of what is included in the book. Incoulding a overview of each chapter in the book. Don't ask for much, do you? Wanna know about "the hand"? Read "Darkness & Light" - the Vorlon history section. It's all explained... Sure, tease us! My personal take on it is that The Hand is a group that managed to avoid the last shadow war, and has traditionally been relatively isolationist. They're a bit of a fraud,...

Earthforce Campaign Book

I just got ahold of this bad boy and I have to say that it is one of the more useful books so far. I really have to give Gareth, and Mongoose for that matter, a major thanks and congrats on this one. The embarrassing thing is that I almost gave it a miss since we already have a book on the Earth All...

I had interpreted Kosh II as being killed, not cimply being forced to leave the station.

I also have to wonder why Kosh I was willing to make Kosh II leave. It was almost like the nature of the vorlons themselves did an about-face when Kosh I died.

Sadly even they are not that powerful.

On the other hand, we do have a Babylon 5 article in S&P Roleplayer this month.

I was watching the Racing the Night commentary today and JMS mentioned that at the end of Season 1 of Crusade, Capt. Gideon would be shot and die. However, his counsciousness would be preserved in the Apocalypse Box and speak out of it, until they could re-unite body & soul. Another interesting the...

Yes, there is a second edition coming out. I don't know if they've announced the release date yet, but I would expect it to be in the first half of next year. You might want to check out the Pocket Player's Handbook (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/rpg/detail.php?qsID=743&qsSeries=11) since it's r...

Re: Reducing Power Advance

I tend to agree with you there, but that just isn't how D20 is designed. Now an OGL product could remedy this. B5 2E is going to be OGL, mayhap they will include rules for that there. See this thread: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11450&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 LB...

Re: Reducing Power Advance

I think I would preferer that the d20 power increasing linearly with level was reduced or removed. It would be better if you halfed the increases at 6th and again at 12th and again at 18th. IE at 6th your BAB increases every other level instead of every level for the fast increases. etc. I think I ...
