Another way to play the PS era is to take out Paranoia RPG and substitute Computer for 3I. Given the era until after the suppressions that was a laissez faire of psionics (the T4 product is quite good in explaining it) - there are any number of weird cults, memes, etc. regarding psionics. So instead...

Most town and cities are lucky to have a FGLS, their business model of surviving on sole games is still fine. So long as they encourage games. Which means devoting some space to a Meetup or local gamers. It also means developing a competitive price structure. Margins are tight everywhere. It also me...

Cause the characters decided to take a vacation in Deneb - a yet unwritten sourcebook - on the planet called Real Life. SOTA is unavoidably delayed until the author can get back onto the space lanes and jump to the destination called Imagination. Come on guys, it is good, but even if you are doing t...

What is the width of an airlock? Plus, as a ball it would not be having much armour just enough to disperse stellar radiation hence the Reflec. So, the Reflec is also there to make sure the opposing side uses balls as target practice.

Of course that is always my opinion (stated numerous times to the groan of some others)... and that is do what you want in your home games, what feels right to you. I was thinking next month of adding point to point Instantaneous Transporter Beam-Up developed by Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott and t...

I had the same problem with mutants until I saw Terra/Sol Twilight Sector's treatment of them. Both SIMs and NOMs are great additions to Traveller. Grafting them onto the Third Imperium is tricky but one has to remember in the 11,000 worlds of the Third Imperium - there is no single baseline human. ...

Zhodani Noble pushing a dominance through nearby space atm, You lost me there... In my idea, becoming one of the hunted deep in Imperial territory would involve using tramp traders (ie other players) who may or may not work for the Imperium. However, once the Imperial Navy starts firing upon them f...

Yes, having it set in Solomani Space with a dash of the Zhodani. You might not need Darrians. Those campaigns are the best but throwing in a Darrian agent trying to prevent dis-stabilization on Terra harkens one back to good old Ming. The secret would be to have the Zhodani actually trying to promot...

Funny, I don't get the same vibe of the Mongoose products being the 70s in Space... I get the sense that there is not a clear direction for the OTU - so the frontiers are more open then just the 1970s. If anything I see it channeling much more the Age of Sail. Which for me is boring...I have always ...

What is your budget? Well, I am a completist...so I am not the most objective person. But, I have found all the Traveller books to be of value. I would shy away from books of deckplans unless you are going run a campaign involving lots of ships and boarding actions...for deckplans are a good thing t...

Hrm, I guess I should clarify this some more. The kind of information carried in this scenario is not anything that would not be publicly available prior to transit. It's meant to assist traffic control in knowing when starships are due in, to provide headline news to be dumped into planetary datan...

So, if you want to swap Traveller stories or just enjoy a pint - where and when. I will staying in Notting Hill but can go pretty well anywhere that the tube can take me...I will be buying an Oyster Card...so might wish to be within zone 1 or 2.

Flight plans do exist IMTU as traffic control device and a way of tracking ships. Failure to file a flight plan is tantamount to smuggling. So, yes, players get in trouble most of the time... but they pay the fine and move on. One loophole around it is jump in the shadow and then quickly file the fl...

The Rules of War of the 3rd Imperium wouldn't really matter here anyway- if WW2 Earth was part of any Imperium, it would of been the 1st. So, what would the Vilani do? And who cares what the "official" answer would be? We're already talking about something that could of only happened in an alternat...

Probably not. Affairs on any the world of the Imperium does not get the attention of the Imperium unless the Imperial Rules of War are violated or Imperial interests are threatened. This is not to say that local nobles may not try to profit from the exchange. Asking if they would allow a Holocaust i...

Maybe it is just me but it does seem that the Mongoose Traveller Universe is woefully under illustrated. Maybe you could negotiate with FFE to get some old stock art and then write up two or three adventure seeds that could go along with it. Alternatively, there is art on the Creative Commons licens...
