Driven to Win

Feat from A&Z, benefit:

You may add your base Will save to your attack instead of your Strength or Dexterity modifier. Feats such as Iron Will add to this.

The description refers to feats, but would the will save bonus from a code of honour add to the attack bonus?

Vincent, thanks for the post. What's really great about the Knowledge (Mystery: god) skills, is that any class can benefit from them, unless scholar specific abilities are called into play. It fleshes out the cultural aspects of religion, which is always deeply ingrained in one way or another in the...

So, without having seen the Zingara feats, I presume that the whole thing would be more proper if you'd convert them to common manoeuvres. Any examples? Knowledge (Fencing: Zingaran School) teaches a number of techniques you can learn with the first and fifth ranks, and every 5 total points thereaf...

Cult of Asura

Vincent, I have been thinking on this, but I thought I'd just come out and ask you, imposing on your swift pen and great disposition, could you elaborate or give some advise for the mysteries of the Asuran religion?

Thanks,

Ummagumma has great percussions, and although not all tracks are suitable for the game, it certainly provides themes ranging from the formulaic, grandilocuent, dreamy, heroic and weird. The album is simply epic, and the association with the ruins of Pompeii has a nice echo of the past too.

Re: Swarms

where two swarms of spiders (2HD each) dealt more damage to the PCs (average level 10) than a bunch of temple guards! (Although the saving throws are easily made by high-level characters.) I guess the spider damage is from poison. I think that regardless of making it on a save vs poison or drugs, t...

Just my 2 cents, but you don't need to follow the rules for spellbooks and nPeeps. I just finished running "The Lurking Terror of Nahab" and... ***SPOILERS*** Sabiat, the thief who created the Terror had no levels of Scholar and he cast the spell by following the ritual detailed in a scroll...thoug...

That's how I had tought it to make the thing legal, not that the GM needs to abide by petty rules....

By the way, the Dabbler feat got a pretty good revamp in 2E.

I just the Shamanic Ecstasy spell in Faith & Fervour. This offers a mystical way of treating the badly wounded or diseased, and many other problems. Basically it allows a shaman to enter a trance though which he goes into the spiritual realm, and there he bargains or coerce the spirits or demos resp...

Casting Spells from Sepll Books

In one of the threads about the changes to 2E, I read that it is now possible to cast spells from spell books. Can someone give some details about this? Can anyone do it, do you have to be a sorcerer (scholar or dabbler)? If you are not a sorcerer of some sort, I guess you would usually need to do a...

Deflect Spell

Deflect allows you to parry attacks as an imediate action, so this means you can cast it reacting to your attackers agression. What implications does this have at the start of combat? Say a sorcerer with the Deflect spell just lost initiative to an opponent who is going to attack him. Given the sorc...

I don't have 2e yet, but somewhere in this forum i read that you can power up spells spending additional power points to add to your magic attack roll. I don't know if this has a limit, but sure makes a sorcerer more dangerous when casting. In Scrolls of Skelos there is the Magic Power Attack feat, ...

I just had my first look fot he 2E and saw the defensive blasts listed among the spells, does this mean that DBs are cast as spells now? Can be used repeatedly as spells? I think some of them are like reactive spells, but didn't have time to read trhough the rules to be sure.

Some of the bonuses granted for every five points in Knowledge (Fencing: Zingaran school) are described as free actions, but others don't say what type of actions they are.

Are all of these free actions? Can you attempt to use more than one in a single round?

Thanks Vincent. All the fencing rules on A&Z are very cool, hopefully I can get to play them some time. You mention the Zingaran school of fencing teaches Dodge manoeuvres, and the Aquilonian Parry manoeuvres. I guess this means the bonus to DV gained from the difference in the balance skill of duel...

Master Fencer

Master Fencer feat from Argos and Zingara:

"When making a finesse melee attack, you gain +1d6 points of sneak attack damage."

Does this mean the extra damage can apply to any finesse melee attack made by the fencer, or just those that qualify as sneak attacks?
