I think that's a pretty harsh spell, if I remember correctly, it actually rips the eyes of the victim, so there is no cure for that.

If you are the GM you could change the spell to actually cause blindness, then a counterspell should take care of that.

These are not Conan per se, but have enjoyed great popularity in this forum: Ancient Kingdoms: Mesopotamia, and The Spider-God's Bride These are adventures, both by Thulsa in this forum. They fit very well the Hyborian age, and although not part of the line, I would consider them intrinsic to it. Se...

Those are interesting ideas Vortigern. Something occurred to me from your comments. Crop breeding to increase their desirable properties could also come into play. Maybe a knowledge skill like nature, could be used in the form of some kind of synergy, that increases the potency of the product. Maybe...

Poison saving throw DC

Has anyone come up with a system of crafting poisons where the saving throw DC can be increased by the skill of the poison maker? In other words, where the skill check to create the poison would have an effect on the potency depending on the check results?

The Magic power attack feat from Scrolls of Skelos allowed to increase the level limit of hypnotism spell targets. It was also included in Secrets of Skellos as an option to the overcharging a spell rule on the 2e. Entrance can exceed the 8th level limit by preparation, this could be made extensible...

Cool, hopefully soon. Just as the eyes of man, the hands of the monkey, and the belly of the crocodile, we gamers never have enough.

Thanks Herve, but that's not what I am looking for. The thing I refer to is a statue of an obscure god, you can meditate in front of it, and you can learn sorcery by doing so. You can also gain corruption. I am pretty sure it is related to Khitai, but already scanned that book for it and can't find ...

Shambling God Statue?

I think I have seen this described under unusual or sorcery items somewhere, but just can't locate it in the books. Can someone point me to it, or was this a lotus dream?

Magician of Yag Sorcery Style

In the Khitai source book, in the introduction to the sorcery chapter on page 64, it says:

"The Magician of Yag sorcery style, new to Conan and described in this book"

Was this new sorcery style edited out of the book? Any chances we can see it in a S&P or posted in the forum?

After reading various supplements of the game, I think one can conclude that the most powerful sorceres would not come from a particular race, but would be devout worshipers of Set, and in particular from the Black Ring. Initiates of Set's mysteries gain several bonuses and abilities that increase t...

Is Kalanthes believed to be an acheronian? I wouldn't think so. He is said to be "the last acheronian style priest" but that's merely circumstantial since he is the high priest of the cult of Ibis which originated in Acheron. I would think that the surviving acheronians have little to do with the Ib...

It would have been nice to see Kalanthes too. I believe he is not stated anywhere.

One of the additions I liked was how the section on cults was expanded and, like the Knowledge:Mystery skill, provides benefits that translate directly into character goodies, like free spells, bonuses to MA, etc. The cult of Skelos is a good example of that... Yes, I liked the part where you get t...

Two regrettable omissions are the denizens of planet Yag: the yaggite and the yothga.

Too bad, hopefully they can be found in the bestiary.

Defensive blasts are cast as immediate actions, what does this mean exactly? I don't understand yet what an immediate action is.

Also under which conditions can you cast a DB?

Cheers,

Just to add to my original comment: my point is that I never thought that becoming a dabbler could be potentially dangerous. I think it makes sense to consider dabblers as sorcerers for all practical purposes. The fact that they merely dabble in sorcery makes them weak at sorcerous things, and thus ...

I was thinking about dabblers and the fact that they are technically sorcerers, which makes them subjects of a war of souls challenge. It seems that it would be perilous for a dabbler if he ever finds himself face to face with the wrong full fledged sorcerer. I think that short of running before bei...

Indeed, Knowledge Mystery and Knowledge Fencing are two great additions to the game. Religion can be such a strong driving force that it is great to have a system that introduces benefits based on initiation ranks, and it opens a lot of roleplaying possibilities as well, since being an initiate of a...
