Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread
Thanks shammond. The length and widths I get, but how do the ECC plan explain 45m height for just four decks? Well, it is possible I'm wrong. The rear elevation in the plans is a different scale than the floor plans, and there doesn't seem to be a scale specified for it. So, I had to calculate the ...

Pretty sure that graphic above from the kickstarter shows a vessel that is 642 meters, rather than the listed 742 meters

Thanks for sharing, Shammond42. That's pretty sweet. Proof that your starship looking awesome and looking like a vacuum cleaner are not mutually exclusive.

Re: Passive radar/lidar
Yes, passive radar is very much a thing. And yes, it is often confused with ESM systems that detect various EM emissions, but they are not the same thing. Passive LIDAR? Not really a thing, as far as I know.

Re: Travellers Needed - Missiles (check our numbers)
As always, AnotherDilbert explained it better :) Another, related discussion might be if some form of fire control software *should* be able to contribute to point defense work. Perhaps not the regular program, but a specialized intercept software? The obvious danger with such software is of course...

Re: Deepnight Revelation - GMs Thread
Gotta love it when your players just pass on the adventure. Rescue the ship? Nope. No thanks. Leave that one for the Navy.
Probably wise that none of them are Mission Commander or Ship Captain. Boldly going where no man has gone before requires boldness, which they may be lacking.

Re: Deepnight Revelation: Riftsedge Transit
Is Deepnight Revelation: Expeditions part of the Kickstarter too, or was it separate? I don't appear to have that one but do have everything else from the KS. Did I just miss one? Yup, it was indeed included - and you should see an update with the printed versions of everything next week! M...

Re: Element Class Cruisers UNREP
UNREP seems to me to be a somewhat awkward attempt to translate fuel & cargo transfer between ships on the high seas, and perhaps fuel replenishment of flying aircraft, to space ships. I don't really see the point. Perhaps high speed fuel transfers.

Re: Shadows Of Sindal
Maybe the TKTK convergence is considered fanon even if created under licence ? I would assume it's still fanon (never heard that term before, but it's obvious what it means). In any case, you will find a tighter looking Tktk map in Naval Adventure 3: Fire on the Sindalian Main . As the author of bo...

Re: Imperial view of Cybernetics
The issue with cybernetics within a Traveller game is that, unlike cyberpunk games in which cybernetic enhancements are a core part of the game, Traveller imposes no penalties, only benefits, for augmentation. An extreme social prejudice against augmentation is one way to mitigate this. The Mongoose...

Re: Travellers Needed - Pirates of Drinax Reprint
It would be really useful to have Highguard stats for the antique Aslan heavy bomber "Eikhoifiruah". I've created my own, but something 'official' would be good. I think it's left open to interpretation, as the players' fleet could vary in strength. But some actual Aslan capital ships would certain...

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint
https://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Imperial_Currency The Imperial Credit is sometimes informally known as the CRIMP (Credit Imperial). A megacredit is one million credits. Megacredits are abbreviated MCr. I like Seth Skorkowsky's Traveller stuff on You Tube. Nice to see another good author working with Mongoose.

Re: Travellers Needed - Core Rulebook Reprint
The use of the slang term "Chromium" evokes "chrome," which is sci fi and cyberpunk slang for "bling." A nickname for money doesn't change any game rules, doesn't make combat run faster, doesn't turn into a weapon to beat up the Travellers with. What it does do is add a unique flavour to Traveller ...

Re: Torpedoes and Missiles
I have a couple of questions. First if a Large Missile Weapon Bay fires a Salvo of 120 missiles, would they add DM+120 to hit? Second if your target is hit with more than one Nuclear Missile, then is the Radiation Trait multiplied like the damage, or does the Radiation effect only count once per Sa...

Re: Quick Intro Adventure
High and Dry is good is you want a non combat oriented adventure. Players used to D&D hack and slash will need expectations set going in. Flatlined is good. Death Station - might as well just kill them during character creation. Just kidding. Kind of. Death Station is known for TPK.

Man, at this rate its going to be up to 400 pages (not saying that’s a bad thing). Of course, when its released the first comment on DriveThru will be somebody complaining that it doesn’t have ship building rules in it.

Re: Astrogation check
Astrogation task verification is not considered at all in MgT2. Mongoose is a complete different mechanic from T5. T is full of convoluted ideas that bog down gameplay. It isn't? CRB pg 148 "Preparing for Jump" has a paragraph on making an Astrogation check. Now this can be done ahead of time so th...
