Re: Large spear questions
My group has a thorn in our side with the combat maneuvers: Shouldn't 'choose location' be on -critical- successes, and not regular succeseses? While the rest of the combat system both feels fun and realistic, it doesn't make sense that every joe sixpack hits people in the head with their swords an...

Re: Arcania of Legend: The Four Elemental Ways
I'm naturally brilliant This might be the real reason!!!! Hey I'm hoping its a great book and will give my guys the tools they need for their elementist characters. We got it all worked into the mythology about the way elements work and in our Pathfinder campaign its was spell schools on elemental ...

Re: Arcania of Legend: The Four Elemental Ways
Hey Damonjynx, I think its cool that you've got the book happening. It guess what I'm concerned with here is the speed from sbmission to layout. I am a hundred percent sure you did edit as you went but there's always a need for another editor on top of that and if an editor edits a book in just unde...

Re: Arcania of Legend: The Four Elemental Ways
so you sent the book to Matt on Friday and its been edited and now being laid out in just three days??? how long is the book? Is it many pages? Or does the editing happen after layout? I am curious because it seems very fast!

Re: Large spear questions
If I was B with a spear and shield facing a guy A with just a knife, I would attack and parry using my shield because the knife guy is never gonna do me any damage and he wont be able to block any of my shield damage with a dagger. My spear might be useless but my shield isnt so that's what I would ...

Re: Reptilians v. 2.0?
Among other things I have lined up: Saurian deities and cults; Lizard Folk shamanism; Serpent People cults and orders. The Monster island book for Runequest has all these already. The lizardmen are shamans while the higher race are serpent men and sorcerers. There's lots of weird cults, new spells,...

Re: New Setting for Legend: Sheoloth - The Sprawling City
So what kind of Legend books would you like to see? Let's talk about your wish list for the New Year :) I got no problem with books like Sheloboth - city books and settings focused on a race - but I'd like to see some other races done. Minotaurs for instance, or something that doesnt get much atten...

Re: New Setting for Legend: Sheoloth - The Sprawling City
Hey Wolf, I wasn't trying to insult you man. That's a seriously impressive list of credentials and I just think its a shame that someone wiyh a body of work like that isnt being used more effectively by the publisher. Seruiously, its a shame that its conversion work you've been confined to. I hope t...

Re: New Setting for Legend: Sheoloth - The Sprawling City
Convince Matt then that he needs to let me/my imagination loose on some of the things I've done for myself in the past. Wolf, I don't really know your work tho I think you did some Lone Wolf stuff, right? But, really, its your job to convince Mongoose, not mine. From where I sit it seems to me like...

Re: New Setting for Legend: Sheoloth - The Sprawling City
That's always my biggest worry about dark elves in general, overuse in the past has left a lot of people with a bad taste in their mouths. This is me. Drow/dark eleves have been used so often that they're kinda laughable these days. I'm sure that The Wolf has done a great job on converting some old...

Re: Undead Evolution Series: Wights preview!
More spells are always cool. As an aside, I'm still not sure whether I like heroic abilities or not. The concept is obviously based upon that of feats in the d20 system and it feels like they've been grafted onto the game almost as an afterthought. And yet...there is a hint of something awesome the...

Re: Elric of Melniboné
We can hope for Elric to come back SOMEWHERE - the statements from Matt haven't mentioned why the line has been cancelled. Was it simply poor sales? Or has somebody else snapped up the licence? I notice that all of the older Elric titles are no longer available via Drivethrurpg and even the old Cha...

Re: Spells of Legend
Thanks Prime! I've been reading Runequest 6 that I got in the sale last week and looking at its common magic which is much more low powered than Legend common magic, and I think I'm gonna use RQ6 common magic instead because there are no variable point spells which I know my minimaxi players will ha...

Re: Spells of Legend
The Disassembly spell looks awful powerful for common magic to me. You can use it to disarm or disarmour an opponent really really easily. I know that its got the SIZ and magnitude limiter on it, but are you gonna rule that SIZ is per piece of armour or a whole suite? What about a crossbow or a swor...

Re: can I say hi here?
I suggest you steer clear of Mongoose's next big Legend release line then ;) If its dark elf/drow related then I guess I'll have to!! Is it new material or converted D&D material? I dunno, I think the drow just got overused and over thought, like comedy redneck orcs did, with too many attempts to d...
