So long and thanks for all the fish!

"I was there at the dawn of a new age, an age when Babylon 5 finally achieved the RPG glory it was due; a magnificent game ... all alone in the night" As a B5 fan from the Channel 4 days and a B5 gamer from the first Mongoose edition (and the CE game before that) all I can say is that it has b...

Jim diGriz was statted out in one of the original books. I don't have them to hand at present, perhaps someone else has it handy... You are right - I had forgotten that completely  I think he had some amazing Jack of all Trades skill (4 or 6). Now I will have to go digging in my collection t...

Three cheers for the Rat of Steel  and his wife (complete with a surgically implanted conscience) and kids (almost as dangerous as their parents). I loved these books (even the last few that were not quite up to the early ones) and I seem to remember that the first one or two were adapted for a...

As far as I can remember from the episode the Cortez had lost its jump engine as well. As to getting lost any ship without a jump engine will be doomed; and even if you can jump back to real space you have to try and discover where you are, then try and align to the nearest known gate and jump again...

LBH
Sorry to disappoint you ... no
The Hermes is the smallest EF ship in the book.

To be honest I'd rather have had shuttle plans (both standard and atmospheric) than the fighters.

Matt has posted this on the Traveller board:- --------------------------------- Hi guys, Apologies for the ISA, but they could just not be squeezed in (this is one of those books that ballooned quickly during development). However, despair not! All B5-Traveller players will be getting the ISA ships ...

I blooming hope so, that is a shocking omission, but please tell me at least that the Sharlin is in there.

Don't worry LBH - the Sharlin is there :D
(Along with a Tigara, Torotha and a very large [2 pilots + 4 passengers  ] Combat Flyer)

Got the book now...

I've just posted my first impressions on the Warships of B5 thread on the Traveller board. In short - nice book, much clearer plans (if a little small), weapons a bit strange (56 Heavy Pulse Cannon on an Omega  ) & a nice selection of ships. Main gripe: No Whitestar, no Victory, no Lilandra -...

The (Missing) Warships of Babylon 5????

Well the book arrived in the post this afternoon and first impressions - very good! The plans are clear, although I will need a magnifying glass to get some of the detail. Some of the weapon loadouts confused me a bit (e.g. 6x Heavy Laser Cannon on the Hyperion - I would have thought 4 absolute max)...

I think the one that G'Kar heads for when he is running from Za'hadum is 3-pronged as well (Points of Departure or Revelations?).

I think you can only get them direct from Horizon the Blake's 7 appreciation society well worth it though, mine are around somewhere Yep, as far as I know Horizon is the only place to get them; and I'll echo Alan Hume - they are well worth it. As well as the Liberator you get some of the weapons, S...

The Liberator certainly had hanger bays (seen in Time Squad) and cargo holds (where Avon found all the loot). According to the Horizon blueprints all the habitable area was contained in a single deck in the centre of the main body of the ship. The three pods were totally given over to the weapons. I...

I was going to have a look and see if it was on Starship Demensions, but the site is gone. :( This is a disaster!!! That is (was) one of the best resources on the net for ships. Size of Liberator = 1000ft approx.
Not official of course but I calculated it based on the width of the tunnel connecting the London to the Liberator in the episode Spacefall :D

Kalek: If you are referring to the ship combat system - it was based on Full Thrust, and the rules are still available for free download from the Ground Zero Games website. Also there used to be a lot of stuff on the web done by the fans featuring many famous SF universes.
