Re: 2300 and Traveller ship miniatures.
While it has been discussed, at this point in time there are plans to produce starship minis for 2300AD. Which is too bad, as I want me an Aconit and a Sufren, to start, Did you leave out a NO? You say there ARE plans then say you wish you could have had a starship model. If you meant to say no, yo...

Re: New Ridley Scott film trailer - Prometheus
Reviewers here hit the nail on the head. Crew failed to work together, except security....but they were from redshirt training. Some of the crew just woke up and had never met before. So not surprising that they didn't all work together well. From the reviews here I thought I was going to hate it a...

Re: Traveller 5th Edition
Has there been any mention of this 600-page tome being instead divided into smaller hard-bound books and sold as a package? My very large RPG books tend to fall apart. Also, searching for something specific in such a large book is like looking for a notecard in a paper-stack. I would prefer several ...

Re: traveller Skill system - Alternative D100
Dislike: Single attribute skills. Some skills really don't have three relevant attributes (I suppose you could add either INT or EDU to the above, but it feels a bit of a flannel). The problem is, you need three relevant stats or else your success chance is penalised. There's an easy fix for this. ...

Re: [2300 AD] North America
But unlike you, I see continental America 2300 as a rat’s nest of extremism, narcissism, and delusional jingosim—unhealthy, superstitious, gun-toting French haters screaming “We’re Number One” to an indifferent world that long ago stopped listening and moved on. Their single gift, as it always has ...

Re: [2300 AD] North America
The final government (based on 2300 history) seems to be more Democrat than Republican - A stronger central government with less State independence, with the off-world colonies acting as an outlet for frustrated Republicans. This creates an interesting dynamic within the American Arm in 2300. Many ...

Re: 2300AD is Back!
Long time fan, own EVERYTHING ever published for 2300AD. I got my book yesterday, been reading it in spare time, and I do give it a definite thumbs up. :D THE BAD Artwork, appearance. More art would have been a big plus. Few illustrations for vehicles, equipment, etc. I'm assuming we will get more o...

Re: 2300 AD: color world maps??
Having obtained the 2300AD book yesterday, I'm on the band wagon for a PDF of color maps. Releasing these on the Mongoose site I don't believe wouldn't cut down on any future sales of the book. I doubt there is anyone that was going to buy the book just for the 30+ world maps included.

Re: Vehicle Handbook - Now Shipping!
Cargo As far as I can see, one space = .25 ton cargo space, as used as an exemplar on p53, and other places (though not helped by a number of vehicle stat blocks having cargo space stats of "0.27" or "0.66" for no obvious reason beyond poor editting). The trouble with your reverse engineered .5 is ...

Re: Vehicle Handbook - Now Shipping!
Glad to see the discussion spurred on by my post. But, I wasn't worrying at all whether a 4 ton Air/Raft should be 4 tons, more so how the rules sync (or don't) between Mongoose Core, Mongoose High Guard, and Mongoose Vehicle Handbook. I cut down on my original post below to just leave the questions...

Re: 2300AD:Dual stutterwarp drives
Going by the Old Rules. tug travels out 3.85LY carrying a heavily shielded ship....<snip>.....At the 3.85 LY point the tug separates from the carried ship, turns round and flies back to its start point to discharge. The carried ship can then power up its own drive which made the trip so far complet...

Re: Vehicle Handbook - Now Shipping!
Just got my book, and for some reason I'm fixated on seeing how the cargo, passenger, and vehicle bays all mesh together. I've just skimmed, but can't find some answers. Cargo How much cargo does one Space give you? I can't find it anywhere in the design rules. I see suggestions above of .25 tons pe...

Re: 2300AD TL
I wonder how the TL will work in the game, I know the setting doesn't support laser weapons and some other sci-fi tech. I see that the original 2300 AD has laser weapons but they weren't used much. I'm assuming this time around will be the same. Actually lots of "lasers" in 2300AD. Yes firearms are...

Re: 2300AD Update
A good thing for me it's on delay. I too want it to be as good as it can be plus I've been spending way too much on games lately and the wife has taken notice so was fearing she was going to lock me in the ship's locker again.
I like the new cover; much better.

Re: Most disappointing Mongoose Traveller product
Hoping you missed the 'Another not mentioned (please specify)' option on both polls given you 'know' your choice is a 'rarity'*. * with the company deciding to redo the products, suspect you're safe on that call, but, hey, you are free to make a poll and find out - just make sure to somehow...

Re: Most disappointing Mongoose Traveller product
This is an incredibly flawed set of polls. You need to have all MgT products listed in each category. Otherwise you are just weighting things for or against your own personal favorites/dislikes. I agree, I'm one of the rarities that wanted to vote for the vehicle guides as the best (yes I know it h...

Re: 2300AD on Pre-Order
BTW, surprised some here think the Kafers aren't interesting...our group imported them into our Traveller game some 20 years ago. We love the Kafers....dead preferably. One of the reasons I loved the 2300AD over OTU were the aliens. Much more interesting and plausible then Cat Men, Dog Men, Space E...
