Deepnight Revelation errors
Finally got a change to download and review the updated files today. The added art looks great. No attempt to be comprehensive, but I did see a few errors that remain from the previous set of files: Expansion Book 4 p. 86 (87 of PDF) – “hanger space for 600 tons of craft”. The hull has 600 tons of h...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
IMO the whole structural vs cosmetic, etc RU was abstract rules gone to far. This process adds no enjoyment to the campaign. If the players wanted something for the ship, they had to figure out how to get it. And so the next adventure begins.

Re: question: when will Deepnight Revelation be re-released
Right, you’re asking for a “re-release” of something that hasn’t been released in its final form yet. All us kickstarter backers have are drafts with partial art. So you’ll just need a little more patience.

Or just use your gravity field equipped pallet jack. Doing something “by hand” might not mean the same thing at TL12 as it does today.

If you are a hard ass for system mechanics, Mongoose Traveller might not be your cup of tea. Mongoose is pretty upfront about this.

Let me revise my comment by saying that the high guard rules and options are pretty solid, but the ships in the back half of the book are riddled with errors. There’s an online errata document, but Mongoose isn‘t much for going back and making corrections after a book goes to the printer.

High guard, yes. Vehicle handbook has issues. And you can use highguard to develop a small vehicle that is far more powerful than its equivalent in VH. But highguard itself is pretty solid.

We played Acrid as PRQ controls the planetary mining operation (the only settlement of on the planet), and GeDeCo owns the starport.

The Chris Jackson short story “Wetwork” has a very different take on this. Was a fun short read.PsiTraveller wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 1:44 amPg 71: GeDeCo controls the government of Dolberg.. This strikes me as odd since psychic whales are the government of Dolberg, but it's what is written.

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
Jali left her home world and struck a deal with the devil (GeDeCo) to get funding and cover for her research, which is banned due to the dangers. She then convinces the other mad scientists to ally with the travellers, who are sponsored by a mad pirate king, to overthrow GeDeCo's control of Tech Wor...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
No reason Jali couldn’t be cured. But what would she do at that point? She’s been driven to recklessness in her labratory by this project, and having inadvertently allowed herself to be taken over by the nanotech, would she turn back now even if she were cured? I doubt it. I think she’d end up in th...

Re: Torpedoes and Missiles
Geir, I've read some traveller or traveller-esque stuff somewhere, probably written by MJD, that includes a “torpedo bomber” approach, with high risk, fast approaches before releasing the torpedo at very close range. You’re right that it isn’t really consistent with the current rules, although using...

Re: Question about Stunners
I like the idea of Ion weapons being heavy weapons requiring a vehicle mount or tripod rather than a rifle. Also the TL15 Ion gun as presented if far too inexpensive for a high tech weapon that can, and is apparently designed specifically to, defeat Battle Dress.

Re: Question about Stunners
So you're telling me you're trying to be internally consistent with previous Mongoose material? Given my rants on the lack of the same in the past, I should probably applaud this. But I still don't like long range stunners.

Re: Question about Stunners
Good concert, paltrysum, but I’d nerf it a bit. 200 charges, or 100 when set on blast, is a lot. To me that would be big, heavy backpack battery, similar to how I envision laser rifle power packs. Maybe ten charges with its own power, and 200 with a 10 kg backpack? Could just use the same backpack a...
