Shadowscout: How many free products do you get to speak the party line? Mongoose will not change because they are making money off bad products and half test stuff. Example: FASA GASP Gamers against Shitty Poducts That's uncalled for. If Mongoose's stuff was bad, no-one would buy it. I happen to th...

Slavery on Babylon 5

In 'Born to the Purple' Adira is a slave. Would slavery really be tolerated on the station? I ran a session last night in which a Centauri slave was won at a game of cards by a human. Would this be legal? Would the card player be legally able to sell the slave? Would another human be able to buy the...

I was never sure whether the armour we see Garibaldi and Sinclair wear is padded or a flak jacket. In 'The Gathering' it definitely looks padded. I have assumed that it is a flak jacket.

Of course if Bernadette I spoke out against Clark, her life expectancy would probably be considerably be reduced.

B5 RPG flyer in DVDs

I got my season 3 DVD set today and inside was a flyer (no not a Minbari flyer :)) for the B5 RPG.

I don't ever recall seeing an advert for an RPG in any mainstream product before, but I hope it generates bazillions of sales for Mongoose and brings folks into the hobby.

It does include details of many major nations on Earth and several colonies. No info on population on Earth, but pop. for the colonies is given. A little info on bases. There is more info on Psi corps but no quantifiable numbers. Also: ships of EF, civilian ships, history, equipment, prestige classe...

Mongoose tend to be a little behind schedule with B5 books, but usually only a few weeks (unlike Decipher!).

Currently available are:
Core Rules
Fiery Trial
The Coming of Shadows
EA book
4 issues of Signs & Portents Magazine

Hope that helps.

Cuba, the Virgin Islands, Haiti, The Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama and Pacifica all joined the US. (P70 paragraph 2)

Cuba seems pretty unlikely to me. And Jamaica has more ties with Europe than the US, hence the recent trade war over bananas.

Do you know any British women called Chelsea? Or guys called Bradley?
To me they seem to be American Christian names.

But given that it's supposed to be the future I guess they could be English.

A blip is a rogue telepath, but this could be either an escapee from Psi Corps or a telepath who has evaded the Corps and never become a part of it. I think the latter was what was referred to in the EA book as the 'Blip' class. There is a previous thread where Bruce Graw descriped the class as havi...

Re: A fellow Canadian

I agree that these are typical misconceptions from Europeans. Our ex-colonizers (be it English or French) tend to see us as a bunch of red clad rangers of sorts (ala Royal Canadian Mounted Police), living in crude log-cabins, still hunting and foraging for our food, and so on. But isn't Bruce...

Does anyone know where I can find a decent pictures of the Condor and Valkyrie? The scren grabs that are in the books aren't very detailed. The best picture I can find of the Valkyrie is AoG's unpainted miniature. There seem to be pictures of pretty much every other ship out there on the web, but no...

I got my book today and it looks great. I haven't had time to read it all yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out more about EA ground forces, the senate and the other colony worlds. It's really nice to see clear illustrations of most of the ships. The prestige classes look cool, especially the ...

Not a big deal, I know.

But on top of the other things in this module it really annoyed both me and the players.

I like the overall arc of Fiery Trial too much to adandon it. I'll be going over modules 2-4 with a fine tooth comb to look for errors.

Another Fiery Trial fault

In module 1, the PCs are recruited to help find a group of scientists who sent a distress call several weeks ago. It takes 8 days to reach the planet. The lead scientist's last notes were dated 6 days ago. There are two dead guys who have been dead for five days. So the researcheers sent a message o...
