Why I always return to Runequest (long)

So I've played a LOT of different games. I own a lot of different games. I've played year long campaigns, as well as one shot games. And everything inbetween. But one thing never fails. I always return to Runequest. The specific version may vary.. 2nd edition, 3rd edition, Mongoose. They all have th...

PIcking a standard scale means plenty of people that already have sizable armies wont buy or play the game, since they dont want to buy a new army, just because some dimwits out there dont play in 15mm or 1/71 ;)

Theres a lot of weird things that happen without total HP so I prefer them.

If not using them, Id definately use the injury rules from the GM guide. Otherwise, some critters will be almost impossible to kill

Well, SS units did have a tendency to spend lots of time dying in a fight the Wehrmacht would have backed away from sooner.

Being a nazi thug doesn't nescesarily mean you're stupid though. They had snipers just like everybody else did.

So in the rules as they stand, with my initiate of Barntar, are they given a cult rune on joining? This is what puzzles me - I am unlikely if not and only have say two random Runes integrated to be able to use any of the Cult Runemagic? I like your fix, and look forward to seeing it as well! cj x A...

its funny as we're just starting a BRP Traveller game.

Rather than convert stuff from Traveller, we're just using BRP, with trade rules from Megatraveller.

You can learn any magnitude of rune spell, if tis integrated, its just a question of what anyone is willing to teach you.

Each cult will teach spells, but if you're just showing up on Sundays, they arent going to teach you the big secrets

Meh.

Its Mongoose Traveller, because Im referring to the Traveller game done by Mongoose.

In my experience, plain saying "traveller" is likely to mean "little black books" to most people, rather than any other version.

so back to glorantha, sorry for the tangent about combat rules. I’m looking through the book and I’m wondering, if any of my players wanted to play an Uz, dwarf or an Aldryami, and I would feel inclined to let them, then since there are no stats/characteristics provided in the book would I use the ...

Re: General questions

In the Nineties I had some experience with 3rd edition RuneQuest, and our group had several problems with it. Problem 1: The hit location system. After one adventure, all adventurers were disabled, either hopping around on one leg or waving their one arm left. Problem 2: Preparation work for the ga...

That all relies on a. playing more scenario-based games and b. playing on big enough tables to actually use that sort of range for 28mm models. To be honest, points based tournament games are propably the worst way to play a wargame in every possible regard. But even if you are playing that way, yo...

Have the sniper suppress automatically on the first shot in the game.
On subsequent shots, he suppresses on a 4+. Once a roll is missed, the element of surprise is lost.

I've worked quite a bit writing a 28mm game that didn't have ranges for most weapons (assuming that firearms could travel anywhere on the table, except for pistols, SMGs and the like) and what we found is that it created a boring 'stand off' engagement. It was way too tempting to have guys plinging...

The way I see things, integrating a rune can also mean overcoming it, or conquering it.

Thus no problem for Orlanthi to integrate a chaos rune. It doesn't make them a chaos follower, it means they have conquered or overcome chaos, and Orlanth rewards him with powerfull magic for his feat
