Here guys - came up with my own homebrew addtion to Fate Points and how to use them (with inspirational help by the old TSR Conan AD&D Modules, Warhammer Frp and Mutants & Masterminds): CONAN: Fate & Fortune Each player has Fate and Fortune Points - one Fotune Point for each Point of Fate. Fortune P...

How many fate points do you give to your players. In my understanding fate points are a rather precious thing so that I don't give them out very easily or often. But the effect that that has is that they are usually only used for "Left for dead" - the last straw that a pc can grasp when his life is ...

SH fighters have an advantage already: The can use their shields to Parry! My group has pretty high Parries being soldiers with high STR and large shields. Exploding dice sound nice. They bring that extra-hooray to the table, but I am pretty all right with the system right now. Just never switched t...

However: in the Conan system as it is, it usually simply doesn't make sense to use any smaller weapon but the biggest one you can wield. Maybe it doesn't matter so much for a Thief whether he has a base of d6 or d10 when he adds a shopping bag of d8 to his damage, but for all other classes it does....

Atlas of the Hyborian Age
That is excatly what we need: A full color atlas of the Hyborian Age. No history, no fluff text - just large, beautiful maps of every corner , cave and city of Conan's world! I am drooling alll over my keyboard and screen right now ... drool with me, brothers and sister! Drool! Drooling will make Mo...

Gimmee de dice an' swing dat bucket full of 'em, man! And kill da Che-cheatin' mun! So much from Hunnish Jamaica. No dice, no game. Then it is pure and simple story-telling. I enjoy hearing stories and telling them, but not if I was invited or am inviting for a game. And i don't like to pretend tha...

I gmed two adventures using GURPS CONAN - grim system for a grim setting. But if you want to chop off other peoples arms and legs and still be standing after finishing the last of the mooks look somewhere else. And the magic system is just not really that impressive in the GURPS CONAN-Universe: I re...

In my campaign King Vilerus was just (two years ago) replaced by Numidides. I am not that well-reda in the tales of Conan to have the chronology of events ready in my head when Conan will slay him and replace him as King but - quite farnkly - I don't care: None of my players have read the stories an...

There really isn't any: Orc are Picts, or Hyrkanians or Black Kingdom Tribesmen - at least that would be there role. Elves would be without any real use. Halflings and gnomes would just be small humans with some extra - and if that extra is gnomish magic it would turn the Hyborian Age into something...

Just one - The Commoner. 10 levels max. Makes much more sens ethan the npc classes in 3.5 (Warrior, Expert etc.). If you are a common man you are a Commoner - and you can't read or write. Looking at the Commoner Class makes it also perfectly clear why Picts and Cimmerians and Nordheimer are so damn ...

try reading my posts, i asked if 4th edition would affect conan and wether it perhaps may switched to say runequest as suggested. Okay let's see: 4th ed: No! Runequest: No! Conan will stay Conan. At least till we all figured out the RIDDLE OF STEEL! BY C R O M ! By the way: Riddle of Steel would be...

This being a Conan forum and all, but: Great Britain should be the Warhammer FRPG capital, or am I wrong? Dark Heresy? I mean I am German and have a gaming group going about every Sunday since 1983 - and with me there are still two of the old gamers in it ( a total of 6 to 7 gamers including gm if e...

I know how it feels but to be honest: Who cares? The games you bought are not "invalid" by any means and can be played till the day the sun dies! And I am not afraid that there will be a 4th edition of Conan EVER! In my humble oppinion 4th Edition is utter crap (I own it, so I know what I am talking...

My PC-group consists of a Noble/ Soldier, a Borderer, a Soldier, a Nomad/ Soldier and a Pirate/ Thief -and sometimes a Barbarian. I can't say that any of them is outclassed by any of the others. In fact in a one-on-one-fight the Pirate/ Thief is going to make mince-meat out of any of the others: Imp...
