It makes me wonder maybe not just the forum has stalled but perhaps the whole hobby is on the rocks? I think niche hobbies, such as RPGs or strategy computer games, are turning more and more towards the internet as the main distribution channel. The good thing is that it is easier to get yourself s...

I agree. And when you have substance and eye candy, it easily beat an horrible B&W reprint.

SK RPG even has a full campaign in the main book !

How do we know if we are ordering this 2nd printing? If I were to place an order, is this the one I'd get now, or should I wait a little while. I want the newer one with the extra few pages. You'll get the new one - the original has been out of print for so long, it is difficult to imagine any copi...

I've been looking for it for 8 months!! Would've been better if mongoose had a small run of the supplements to cover the gap. I was thrilled when I first found the game. But a wait of 8 months for what is core material based on how many times its referenced in the main rulebook is a bit too long a w...

A good example of an rpg which achieves both full colour and playability would be... The Savage World of Solomon Kane retails at $49.99 mmm end of discussion I guess. Lets see, the full colour conan rpg was $49.99, still expensive for just a core rulebook and nothing else, too expensive for many pe...

New Jersey, here. Mt Holly region. Looking for Traveller, mostly. I'd prefer to Ref (DM/GM/Run the Game/Whatever You Want to Call It) Makes me envious of Jersey. If I was close enough I'd go for it, but alas I'm too far away, and to top it all off theres literally nowhere to by the current version ...

I don't think 4ed will be a flop, just unrecognizable to old style gamers like me. I started with 1st ed and the '83 box sets. Though I can't say if I'll be buying it or not. I haven't bought any D&D stuff since 1st ed other than some adventures & magazines. These days conan is more my thing.

It is being printed in the US, so I would say availability there will be pretty good :) Well that's been nearly a month and not one solitary single copy to be had here in canada. The few places I can get stuff from have tried special ordering it and all say its not available. Is it just very very l...

Mongoose's downgrade approach to its books is a miserable development - i ask you why? the Atlantean ed and slaine d20 were miles ahead of current fair in terms of production values - i like my books to be as pleasing as possible to gaze upon...call it deluxe if you want but it used to be standard ...

Hi all, theres a few reasons I haven't been here. I mentioned it before but I live in a terribly small place and I'm the only gamer for 50 miles in any direction, whats worse the places I used to be able to find other players are long long gone. Another thing is very few stores carry rpg's anymore, ...

Mongoose doesnt seem to be too bad for releasing stuff, though I also been anxiously waiting for skelos for a while, smeg I'd even take 1st ed. if I could get it. Its definately like that other 900 pound gorilla of an rpg company that shall go unnamed which has had release dates slip 6 months or lon...

This is a bit of a relief for me. I've seen the 2nd ed briefly at the "local" (read 80 miles away) game store and despite it's being $10 than 1st ed was I was debating weather or not to buy it or spend on supplements. I'm leaning to other supplements. Now if I could only find a handful of players wi...

Time for a reality check here. Full colour on every page costs lots extra. I for one cannot justify paying $50 to $70 for each and every rulebook. For those who havent noticed, the rpg hobby has shrunk by a shocking amount in the past 15 years. We dont need another huge reason for even more players ...

Waaaay back in the early 80's some gamers (myself included) would build up a few rpg utilties on our then new 8bit computers, usually in basic. I dont see it being out of reach for some of us with some C programming knowledge could come up with a similar utility for conan? say something to generate ...

It puts me in mind of some high school 1st ed ad&d players I knew. They did the typical min maxing feat. 3 of them played mages with every stat being 18. Those 3 tossing darts around were routinely doing more damage than half ogres with long swords. Perhaps not pure twink but more of a twist of munc...

there's one or two for conan around somewhere, stickied last time I looked. Still nobody near me though. I'm out in the boonies but it cant be that far out in the outer dark can it? Note: apparantly it is that far out in the outer dark. A year and a half later and I've not found another conan player...

At the risk of sounding punny he'd hafta change his name to Conan the Librarian. Come to think of it, he'd be good at dealing with the scholar pc who instists on having 18 dex and 18/00 strength.
