Re: Taking your time
Sorcery (...) Just imagine a sorcerer has Sorcery 61% and Manipulation 53% casting Damage Resistance on himself, possibly adding 3 to Duration (i.e. 4xPOW minutes) and 3 to Magnitude (i.e. Mag 4), so 3MPs and thus 3 CAs. He could do that anytime and indeed take a lot of time. Normally, that would o...

The common RPG trope that sorcerers and magic practitioners actually perform the magic themselves, and it is this individual intervention that causes the effect, is largely a Western concept (there are exceptions, but as we are talking about Japan...). I think this is not only a "western" concept, ...

OK... your contents list doesn't say but it's strongly implied PCs have to be members of the Order. Is this so? Suppose you have no interest in being the Pope's Special-Forces Taliban. Can you use this supplement as a generic middle ages sourcebook? Definitely not. The supplement is so narro...

In most cases I think that extra CA will be used to parry (if using the house rule that the extra CA must be used for that weapon or shield). Even a small weapon that halves damage, with some armor, is effective. Having the extra CA for a parry frees up the main weapon for another attack. That extr...

Is this additional CA such an advantage when you consider two weapon styles ? You can only have a Medium weapon in your main hand, and a Small one in your off-hand. Small weapons have poor damage ratings when compared to shields : 1D4 for Main Gauche, 1D4+1 or Dagger, 1D6 for Hatchet. And, due to th...

Questions
I have some questions: 1) Is it possible to combine more than one Wrack spell, such as Wrack (Heat) and Wrack (Darkness) to deal damage to 2 different locations each round ? 2) I'd like to use the Generic Hit Points system for Player Characters, but I don't know if it is a viable option. Does it mak...

In the sorcery spells shown in preview 2, there was no mention of "Intensity" or "Magnitude", but instead 10s of the Sorcery (Grimoire) skill. What was the exact purpose behind this change ? I suspect it is not only a change in wording. There are a number of reasons... ;) Firstly, the Sorcery syste...

I don't know if this is the right place to ask for, but something surprized me in the MRQII previews. In the sorcery spells shown in preview 2, there was no mention of "Intensity" or "Magnitude", but instead 10s of the Sorcery (Grimoire) skill. For instance : "A sorcerer can affect a target of up to...

Although this won't make or break the game for me, I thought to pipe in about a thing that is a concern for me in the current edition. I am talking about strength modifier for (melee) weapons. While it is kind of fun to have a modifier as a dice, I think that this applies only when it is a positive...

If played straight as the rules say, it was designed to let Magic using characters with this spell do simple one use enchantments for characters who have specialised in non-magical spells. e.g Wu-Gen the Sorceror makes a Paper Charm of Protection vs Evil Spirits (Drive off Spirit 4) for his friend ...

What about using Magic Point Matrices, Crystals and Bound Power Spirits ? Yes, your Sorcerer doesn't really need those, but don't forgetr that he has to learn more than 20 skills to be efficient with the 16 spells he knows. Or you can take a look at OpenQuest, where Sorcerers need and Crystals Matri...
