Re: New Flying Bases
Assuming the bases are now 2" and change instead of just 2", we'll judge fudge it and say if bases touch you are in transporter range and not sweat the small stuff. That's fine for you but such option is not always available. Would prefer bases to be max 2" or rules changed so i don't have to rely ...

Re: New Flying Bases
Yeah I think Mongoose botched a bit on that part :-/ Base sizes are so important that suddenly changing them without very good reason is often issue. Do we want the "you must rebase your models!" wars start here as well? Have fun in 40k with your 10+ year vintage terminators. Take them to tournamen...

Re: New Flying Bases
Was there a reason for making the new bases larger than the old? The old were 2" wide which worked great for the transporter. If the bases touched you were in range. How are we going to handle it now? Yeah I think Mongoose botched a bit on that part :-/ Base sizes are so important that suddenly cha...

Re: [CONAN] Schwarzenegger Returns As Conan In A New Flick!
Well from the article it seems like it will be conan's late years for sure. Which makes sense if arnold is inNialldubh wrote:Hope Arnie is healthy, he getting old, maybe they will do him sitting on throne and thinking back to his earlier years and get 'The Rock,' to play Conan!

Re: $18 shipping on a $75 order...
The shipping prices are really annoying(especially when you are used to buying from england/asia with free shipping! When you get no shipping charges on most of the shops you buy you kinda get used...So I admit I could be bit biased) when it comes to smaller orders. I was looking at the flying bases...

Re: LGS trying to expand A Call to Arms game
Alternatively, just disregard the fluff about tactical warp, which incidentally also means you don't need to make up some sort of technowaffle to explain how a ship can fire an energy weapon forwards and not run straight into its own beam. And you get to play crossover battles against Noble Armada ...

Re: Klingon Shields and Dust Clouds
Question 1: YES, Klingon's do not have "forward" shields per se, shields are all around in ACtA. Any attack that hits their shields from the front arc do half damage while the shields are operative. Yup. Helpful to keep in mind that it's not "double shield at front". You have same shield value all ...

Re: LGS trying to expand A Call to Arms game
You'd have to play using the NA rules. Not really. Actually it would have to be mix&match. SFU ships don't have speed and turn values as per NA... Actually pretty much only thing you CAN do is "both sides play their own rules as far as possible". So when NA ship moves it moves according to NA rules...

Re: LGS trying to expand A Call to Arms game
well thats just handing SFU the victory if do that as they have their shields that regenerate and are much bigger. yes they have less AD but the burnout of NA has no effect on starfleet any more than any other weapon Then again SFU ships have less troops in general + no defences against grapling li...

Nothing I do gets the prices to show up in USD, just Brit Pounds instead. I click on the little US flag then try to go to the link you gave I log in then try going to the link you gave. Every other page in the store I go to I can get in USD just not the links you post as an announcement. Yeh. He li...

Re: Looking for players to test play-by-email.
I think the hex grid works well and is a minor compromise from the table-top game to convert to play by email. The biggest change is the simultaneous movement for all ships. This isn't a requirement for play by email, but it does allow games to be completed in a much more reasonable time frame. We ...

Re: Looking for players to test play-by-email.
I would like to see an AAR posted or a by turn posting on the forums for us curious bystanders. Nice reminder. I forgot to update mine but since I have emails still stored up should be able to finish it up. I'll try to see when I can get it written. IIRC was on turn 5 and turn 8 will be pretty shor...

Re: Problems?
So what if they did stop producing anything else? You still have enough ships and races for enough games to last for years! You interested in playing solo games? Neen there, done that. Often do that when I'm trying to decide do I invest on it. But it ain't interesting. in the long run. So even if t...

Re: Problems?
Not really. Plenty of games before have filled core book and then died. Epic armageddon, SST, ACTA:B5 to name a few. Last 2 at least should be pretty familiar... Not to mitigate your concern in anyway, but B5 ACTA got first edition, revised edition, Sky Full of Stars, Armageddon and then a second e...

Re: Problems?
Enough to know that both did far more than complete the core book releases. Both went on to spawn multiple supplements and minis, the latter hitting something like 200 different miniatures across 13 fleets - I always said it was difficult to see where CTA: B5 could go from there... Yes. They did lo...

I like it! I found the addition - what's another word for "silhouette"? ;) You need to download one of the highest resolution pictures, though - I can't see it in the small on-line version and I know what I'm looking for. http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/284735main_A-DualAsteroidBelts-full.jpg Th...

Re: Problems?
It does. The agreement we have with ADB is perpetual, with no termination date and whatever stresses and strains pop up, the game is doing too well. And it plays _very_ nicely. Maybe not termination date but what's stopping ADB from pulling the plug? Or you telling it's so sureproof that even Steve...

Re: Problems?
Well, I think that's reading way too much into a simple scheduling conflict. Despite what I said above I'm not seeing any need to start worrying yet. Issue is not that this is SINGLE issue... More like constant stream of same old stuff. Once might be nothing, 2 might be ignorable, 3 is starting to ...

Re: Problems?
That would be fine, if ADB had 50 employee's it simply doesn't and there isn't anyone to delegate too. To use your comparison, how would then even design a 2012 ford superduper, if the guy making the spare parts, and the main designer, for both of the cars, was still having to do that same job, of ...

Re: Problems?
I wouldn't be so quick to start writing things off yet. All of the release schedule is minis, almost all of which have been approved, so if ADB do ADB stuff for the next four months in order to release the next ADB product then it isn't going to have much effect on ACTA:SFU. I think people worrying...
