And just think, when she starts reading the stories in several years, she'll say, "They aren't as good as my Dad's stories, but this REH guy's not bad!"

Thanks for the comic reference. I had that comic back in the day! I was hoping that I'd be able to get away with only buying the Conan statue, but looks like I'll be in for the Conan AND Belit. I'd buy Zula too, but I'm going to have a hard enough time coming up with $400+! Come to think about it, I...

That looks great. I've collected a lot of statues over the years, but don't have a Conan one yet.
Looks like I'll finally be able to remedy that!

What a good topic! I have to cast another vote for the Giant/Drow series. We must have run through those modules a hundred times back in the day!

Another vote for BAY-LEET.
I was always curious how it was pronounced, though.

Like most of you, I don't use Conan directly in our games. Our adventures are set when he is still the King, in his later years. He paid the players salaries when they were guarding the Pict Frontier, but thats about it, nothing really direct.

There are so many locales that REH never got around to exploring, so feel free to create! I say, if it works for you and your players, and is "true" to the feel of the game, then go for it.

We've often played with only one or two players. I actually think that Conan plays better with a smaller number of characters. If you think back to the old D&D days, you needed a large party to cover the necessities of a dungeon crawl - two or three fighters/rangers/paladins for the physical confron...

I agree with some of the other posters - Across Thunder River is excellent. It has a lot of content, is very well written and I've always liked the potentials of the Pictish wilderness.

Thanks for the preview. I'm torn on this one. We don't have any scholar PCs, but we always have lots of NPC scholars, so it might be helpful there. I'll probably wind up getting it for the new spells and such.

In our games, we don't use the Sorcerer as a Player Character, exactly for the reasons that you describe. At the lower levels, they are practically worthless. As NPCs and villians, they are great because they really up the ante with those very powerful spells. Also, when you think about the REH Cona...

I don't know of any legal electronic copies, either. But, Dark Horse has published Black & White "phone book" sized reprint collections of the magazines. Each has 15-10 issues for $15 or something. They are available at Amazon and the like: http://www.amazon.com/Savage-Sword-Conan-Vol-1/dp/159307838...

I recently bought the Soloman Kane Book a couple of weeks after the Conan 2nd edition Book, and the two books don't even compare. Solomon has color, good binding. Conan is a black and white and is falling apart. Yes, Conan has more pages, but the presentation of the two books isn't even close. Come ...
