Clearly this is just a front for the Quackodemon cult...
I have the Quackodemon cult somewhere, trying to remember which fanzine it was in now......

True, but as I am in the middle of a Humakt campaign, and no cults books currently planned that I know of will cover the 3rd age version (being tied to the 2nd age setting) it has a major bearing on Runequest as I currently play it, and would be a downside to changing to the new version. Any conver...

In RuneQuest, yes, take Humakt for instance, it requires 2 sword attacks at mastery to make Rune Lord, if you only have a couple of sword options, all the characters aiming for this become very samey. It DID require. There is no evidence whatever what it WILL require in future... Wulf True, but as ...

The Scimitar is there; Scimitar 1H Sword, 1d6+1 (a little weak I think). Broadsword seems to have become War sword (at least that is my guess from the statistics of the war sword). And it is really not worth getting into an argument over what, historically, broad, war and long swords actually were ...

Preview 2

I have looked at the pages to Preview 2, the taste of combat and strike ranks etc looks interesting, but I have a couple of comments/concerns. Silver pieces? Part of the charm and immersion of Runequest was that you didn't have silver Pieces etc like D&D, you had Lunars, Wheels and CLacks, now I kno...

Well, I have wanted a 'standard' fantasy setting for years, with a system I consider playable. That leaves D&D out in the cold. Greyhawk is as wierd as Glorantha, just not as much fun. I am no Gygax fan. Write your own, Runequest was a very adaptable set of rules, the biggest problem to it being ap...

First character will be an initiate of Humakt, as we are in the middle of a Humakt campaign so new initiates are always handy. As to Star Wars, I can see that, but a better game fit would be Shadowrun (nice idea and background and I absolutely hated the rules). Saying that though, I always reckoned ...

So Glorantha has foibles and weird critters, but give me that over yet another Tolkien clone, Elves are good and noble, dwarves are tough and scottish, Orcs are to be slaughtered, Glorantha is at least original.

I thought the Lunar Empire was loosely modelled on the Persian Empire? It's been reimaged a half-dozen times. Persian is better in terms of accuracy, but Roman is a far better known and far more easily visualised concept. One thing HeroQuest has been extraordinarily guilty of is over-intellectualis...

Trolls and the variousTribes of Uz were a superbly detailed part of old Glorantha. Always fun to throw players inexperienced in Gloranthan ways into Trolltown... Wulf Heeeeheee I once threw a D&D group into Prax for an adventure, they never did figure out why they kept getting attacked/robbed and o...

Runequest has Chaos, the big baddy in most setups, but there is no law as such, you follow your own path and that of your God, defined by his Runes and beliefs etc. Its interesting to note that the most chaotically behaving cult is probably Stormbull who is the devoted Chaos hunter. Chaos in behavio...

I still have the original Lhankmar city supplement from TSR, one of the best they ever did. A great place for Runequest with the low magic and Gods.

Now if only Matt would get his SOON™s into nows than all would be good.......
