It could definitely be dangerous if attempted nutrained. Maybe you pick up on everyone's fears if they are within range of the danger sense ability. Now you're just too scared to move, and maybe if you keep failing you become psychotic.

It should also be noted that B5 (and the Omega's) operated flights of 7 not 6 fighters, just that 7 is a sucky number for game purposes :) Actually, B5 was the only place we see that did operate fighters in 7-count squadrons. Every ship in the show ran 6-count squadrons. Now, this might be standard...

Re. Flying ranks: Their seem to be only two types of pilots in the B5 world. Warrant Officers and Commissioned Officers. Both are trained to be fighter pilots and spend a great deal of time sharpening their skills. Most technicians are good enough pilots so they can tell when something isn't working...

Max is not the only PC in my PBEM game who has serious issues. I've been seriously considering charging for my counseling services for these PCs. We have one PC who has developed a second personality and alternates between the two in game. Try and run a game with that type of PC. I dare you. Sidney...

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. Any idea what sort of level they would all be? Also, would the Non-Coms be more likely to be Officer class or Worker class (with the appropriate specialisation from the revised Worker rules)? Similarly, would the technical personnel be more likely to be Work...

I'd convict him in a heart beat at this point. Steele does make a good argument about how useful this could be used as a plot device. However, it works out to be more fun in my mind if one of Max's enemies held the conviciton up on a technicality in order to get him to do something they want him to ...

I also forgot to include what happens during an "All Hands" alert. In this case the senior crew will take over (as long as it will not interfere with operations). Otherwise everyone else is tasked with either monitoring weapons stations or as part of a damage control team.

Re: Posts on Hyperion Cruiser

What posts does anyone think the crew of a Hyperion Cruiser would fill? The EA Sourcebook lists the crew as being 4 officers, 10 pilots, 12 sensor operators, and 38 crewmen, but what do they actually *do*? What duties would a PC onboard a Hyperion be likely to have? For that matter, what sort of le...

Fasten, then zip.
Yep, fasten-zip, me too.

It's amazing how long it took someone to answer that one.

And I shall be the next to remove myself from competition. The book actually arrived at my basecamp about a week ago. I am amazed it made it through the military postal system so quickly, but I am also really impressed with the book. It looks a lot better, and I like the addition of the where to fin...

To be honest, I really despised the theory behind regular damage and megadamage. It just made cerain things ultimately silly. Besides, if you want to reflect something like that just up the DR on ships/vehicles of certain size/characteristics in order to ignore the damage from small arms.

It has to do with the physics of orbiting a spinning spheroid/semi-spheroid. Gravity pulls any orbiting object towards the center of its mass. If you put an object in orbit outside the equatorial belt, it will not remain there. Gravity will pull the object 'down' towards the Earth's center. <This is...

Just remember they are only glorified counters - size doesn't matter and I'd put good money on the ground scale being totally unrelated to the ship scale otherwise we're going to need sports stadiums to play the battles in... I have always thought that using a stadium would be great fun for a reall...
