Just had a thought. What if Mongoose were to put a few deck plans up on their download page for some of the smaller vessels to wet everyone's appetite. That way they could see what kind of demand is out there for them as well as get some (hopefully) constructive criticism. That, and it would make me...

I'll go ahead and say it too. It looks really good! Do you mind if I pull from it and use it in my campaign world?

BTW, that "Guest" is actually me. I had forgotten to log in. Oh well.

Your going back to CA? I'm currently replacing a unit going back to CA. Are you leaving the Balkans?

I contend that an economy manned by only a third of the population, even with heavy automation, simply can't gear up for a total war. A nation that doesn't prepare for a fight to the death gets eaten whole sooner or later. My contention here was that 1/3 of the Minbari, before the war started, war ...

I do like those because it gives me a good idea of where everything is. However, I would like to see something more complicated. It should lay out where the heck everything is, as well as give you a map that can be used for character scale movement in the ship. Now, it doesn't have to be a full size...

I can't argue with you there, against any "mature" enemy the Minbari will have the same problems of supply and maintenance that all the younger races have. The problem of what it takes Minbari to repair their vessels is something that we can pull from the rulebook, at least for the purposes of this ...

Now I admit that such individuals as a dedicated security/ground combat force would be hard to spot within the environs of the B5 show. They never really focussed on anything like that. I do agree that every ship, military atleast, would require that such personnel be present. You never know when on...

Earthforce Marines?

I just realized that I have never seen or heard of anything like EA Marines. The people who ensure that any ship has an affective defense against boarders or in case they wish to make small unit actions planet side.

Has anyone seen something I missed?

Shadowscout wrote: "Why, GURPS of course. I thought I wrote that some post before... I always use GURPS - ever since I stumbled upon it, oh, 12 or so years ago." What I'm wondering (mostly cuz I just wrote about it in the ship plans string) is whether or not you've tried to use the GURPS Traveller E...

Does anyone know if Mongoose is putting anything together in this area? If they are not planning on it, then maybe getting with the people at GURPS who made the_Traveller_deck plans. They are pretty darn good and set to about the same scale as that used in D20. Though if Mongoose got with GURPS I wo...

Actually, at the time it was more likely 99.9% devoted to war as "they all went mad with grief." However, I know where you are going with that and I think it implied that the warriors and those worker caste supporting them made up one third of the Minbari population. Also consider that the tech adva...

There's a fairly interested group in College Station, TX. They are looking for someone brave enough to fill a role as GM. I would have, but the army decided to deploy my rear-end to another continent. Send me a personal email if someone around there is interested and I'll get in touch with them for ...

It is but the only way I see making that really useful is if you divide your fleet/side up into movement groups (white star squadrons, carrier groups, etc.) so that you don't get bogged down in the intitiative/movement phase.

Some additional points from my point of view that might or might not agree with anyone in particular: 1) A velocity based movement system is absolutely necessary in order to maintain the same feel as that presented in the show. 2) I have always liked the games that had simultaneous movement and no i...

Wargaming Preferences

I really do enjoy a good game of ship to ship combat that Agents of Gaming let me do with B5 Wars. It was no where near as complicated as the Star Fleet Battles game which ended up taking a good chunk of your day just for a one on one fight. B5 Wars simplified things a great deal when it came to tak...
