Well

I was in the playtest group for BF:Evo, so played a reasonable number of games. The rules are solid, and two basic infantry squads is what I would recommend everyone start their force with. You can then legally add a tank and support elements to take you to 1000 points (BF:Evo has a force structure ...

Looking for Kits

I'm looking for model kits to use with the BF:Evo rules. Admittedly I am looking for Star Wars kits, but my heart is in the right place. Does anyone know of kits for, or lookalikes for the following in 25-32 mm scale: AT-TE (the galactic fleet one is 15mm scale) Republic gunship (there is a diecast ...

Starting battles: You can play with one PLA, British or USMC squad on one side, 2 MEA squads on the other. Or any other combination. I don't think I can emphasise how hard PLA squads are, or MEA with extra RPGs. My first game had a couple of infantry squads and a tank a side, for an almost 800 point...

One suggestion has been for the Germans to invade the French again. They used to do it every 25-50 years or so, so we are overdue one. MEA can be themed to be government forces or militias (bear in mind you could represent the Northern Alliance and the Taliban with them, as well as militias run by t...

The BF:Evo rules are very good.

And very flexible. At my local club we've been playing games set a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. And it has worked very well.

The problem is that if they had they would have had to compete in minis terms with half a dozen other manufacturers for wargames, Revell, Trumpeter and other companies and would have had a situation where a minority of the game players bought the lines Mongoose brought out to support it. By going wi...

Oggie

Bring some SeeKrieg things on Saturday and I will have a squiz. 1/6000 does seem a bit small to me, but it will depend on the detailing.

Bear in mind the difference between the studio pics (as seen in the box previews) and the production minis, which I think are fairly disappointing in terms of paint quality. The human sculpts are good and the mechs are impressive, but the Therians do seem to be Dirz-lite in space. And I play Dirz, a...

I think that is more about comedy value.

I think Stalingrad is becoming more and more a serious possibility.

To be fair yes. Would a lot of players play Canada? How much distinct equipment would they need? Would Mongoose consider mail order only armies of limited appeal (Canada, Australia)? I suppose a what if campaign where the US decide to crush the Canadian menace would be a possibility, as would Canadi...

It would be interesting to see the Canadians.

I'm fairly sure South America will be represented as well. Admittedly their tech can be rubbish, but it would be interesting to see them as a faction.

Well

The initial pics Rackham released were studio paints, but nowhere in the press release did it say this. I know Matt looked at these and was influenced thinking that this was the standard of the competition. But then the production pics were released (and the ones on the link are good examples of the...

Admittedly I am going with whats cool

and collecting a company level force (1 platoon pathfinders, 1 platoon exos, 1 platoon PAMI, 1 platoon LAMI).
At least it means I'll always be able to surprise an opponent and I won't get bored painting the same thing.

Stalingrad - should it be compatible with Starship Troopers?

This is a thought I have had while reading the Starship Trooper rules and Klendathu invasion book. Should SST and Stalingrad be completely compatible? You would not have to play them together, but would have the option to do so.
I'll post a seperate thread discussing the mechanics for this.
