Re: Mobile Infantry Squad Size
Don't have the book or docs anymore, but I'm positive it was errata'd back to 8 per squad.

Re: A Call to Action Star Fleet rules questions
There's playtest scouts/expanded rules in the first A Call To Arms journal (but not for the Nelson/Hermes. ACTA:SF covers the later period that Federation Commander does, the Reference Manual ships would be in what they call "The Middle Years" over in SFU-land), the final version will probably be in...

Re: A Call to Action Star Fleet rules questions
"Get past" as in scores more hits than the shield has points remaining, sorry if I was confusing you there.

Re: A Call to Action Star Fleet rules questions
It's A Call To Arms: Star Fleet  You add the crew quality value (4 if you're not using the random values) to the dice score for CQ checks, so you need to roll 4+. The stealth doesn't improve, although the value gets higher. The stealth value is the number the cloaked or stealthed ship rolls to...

Re: Base size and 2"
I'd suggest just going with base contact when the stand size doesn't allow you to place them within 2", an extra inch or less range isn't that big a deal when so much is abstracted anyway. BTW Billclo, you might want to take a look at the Litko bases. They use a peg-topper "washer" mount which lets ...

Re: Where are all the pics of painted minis? SF
Sickeningly good
The "aztec" effect is a particularly nice touch, and the nacelle caps are quite effective. Looking at the banding on the engines, I'd take it to be one of the older "R" cruisers. Intentional or artistic licence ? (looks good either way).

Re: why have the Kizinti been neutered?
Didn't the early playtest rules have a similar system as proposed above, adapted from Victory At Sea's torpedo rules, where seeking weapons didn't hit until the end phase (turns before impact depending on range) ? IIRC that's what Greg's alluding to regarding placing markers.

Re: Musings on plasma
One thing I was mulling over was some way of avoiding plasma damage without using phasers, to represent to some extent that the skillful captain has manouvered his ship in such a way as to lengthen the time the plasma took to hit, maybe he swerved and bought himself a few seconds or suddenly came t...

Those are quite lovely, you've got the level of striping and highlighting just right for the scale.

Yes, although it works out about that anyway if you don't include any of the heavier ship classes at that point level.

Re: 750 Fleet Design
OK then. BTW make sure you have the errata, there's been a number of changes to ship stats and certain rules (most notably: Lumbering trait has been removed and drones have been brought more into line with the source material). You'll find at the bottom of this page : http://www.mongoosepublishing.c...

Re: 750 Fleet Design
Well, what models do you have or are you proxying everything ? And do you want ship mixes based around current squadron and/or fleet sets ?

Re: Multiple small ships, or single larger ones in small gam
Heh, aye :) The problem arises when folk takes ages checking every possible move and every enemy ship move before shifting anything (and the same before firing). OK with a couple of ships per side, irritating with a full fleet and not really in the spirit of the game IMO :) Placing spare dice to mar...

Re: decal application help.
Slide them onto the model off the paper, don't leave them in the water for so long that the decals float off the paper. You can use a Q-tip or paintbrush to smooth it out or to wet it on the model if you need to adjust it's position.

Re: Drones vs Klingon front Shields?
I didn't say anything about it being more difficult or too complicated. You've been told how the rule works, and likely why it works that way. If you don't like it then house rule it. Simple.

Re: Drones vs Klingon front Shields?
It'd mean you have to track every single AD of phaser you have rather than each weapons system only. Over a large fleet, that's a lot more record keeping. When you're firing offensively, it's all done at once so you only need to track weapon systems fired.

Re: Tips for playing Drakh in campaign.
Raiders are classed as single warships, not fighter wings. Seems to me that you'd have to buy replacements between campaign turns (and if you mean recover damage during a game, then I can't find anything that allows that for anything other than fighter wings).

Re: Carrier - Fighter XP in campaigns
Not outside of house rules. Remember that the carrier will still get XP for surviving and/or winning a battle. And you can always let it get the last shot in at a nearly-destroyed target to score XP for the kill.
