I assumed that Mongoose's very own Slaine RPG would have a host of info on ley lines [IIRC Slaine occasionally used a "leyser" beam weapon, a ley energy powered firearm] but a search on the Judge Dredd & Slaine forums for "ley" came up blank. Might be worth posting over there? I remember the 'leyse...

From wikipedia... Vipers Viper venom (Vipera, Echis, Lachesis, Crotalus) acts more on the vascular system, bringing about coagulation of the blood and clotting of the pulmonary arteries; its action on the nervous system is not great, no individual group of nerve-cells appears to be picked out, and t...

I could see the God Learners creating ley lines that invisibly map parts of the Hero Plane, just for the sheer 'Coz we Can' factor. Where lines intersect, you have a major nexus of mythical power, and, perhaps, a gateway into the Hero Plane.

Copies were initially released at Continuum 2006, so it's been out in a very limited form for a few months. The layout's... well. But the content is great. And yep, essential God Learner goodness.

RQ Character Sheet

I've been messing around with character sheets for my own campaign. You can find the results at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/lawrence.whitaker/index.htm There are two sheets: one for Gwenthia (and there are links on the site to tons of Gwenthian resources), and a generic RQ sheet. The Gwenthia sheet...

On a personal levle I'm looking forward to Demonology, which has been hinted at, but I have no idea where that will turn up. Possibly in the Hawkmoon/Corum campaign books that were threatened a while back. It would be odd to find demonology in Hawkmoon (and, to a certain extent, Corum, too). I can'...

Well, CoC is cut-down RQ anyway, with the exception of EDU, rubbishy magic and sanity rules. As I don't like CoC, I'd go with RQ as RQ is a more flexible system and will have supplements geared towards modern and futuristic settings. So, RQ without doubt. Use the CoC weapon stats, though. Surely it...

Only they don't anymore, Effort and Stamina are more the province of the Athletics skill.
You're talking MRQ. I was talking BRP.

Don't have a skill or ability that covers a particular need? Use a Stat x3, x4 or x5 roll instead. That's how BRP's always done things. BRP has a stat roll system as follows: STR = Effort (lifting stuff, etc) CON = Stamina (running flat-out) SIZ = no associated roll, but used for HP and height/weigh...

I think I would make a very poor writer as I would HAVE to go back and edit all of my work again and again, I think that would make you a good writer. Any writer worth his or her salt self-edits constantly; that's how the work improves, and how your craft improves. It's a very good discipline to ha...

My information regarding Basic Roleplaying comes from two sources: first, Chaosium. Charlie Krank, Chaosium CEO was at a convention I run in the summer and I talked to him a lot during the con. Second, I'm one of the playtesters on the new version of BRP, so I've been messing around with the system ...

Whilst it's true that there's never any certainty with any company over what it releases, I don't think it's too presumptious to say that DBRP will appear. Pulp Cthulhu was hampered by manuscript difficulties; DBRP is very nearly complete (in both senses of the word), and, although things can, and d...

Re: Rune of Chaos

From my point of view, it seems to be OK scenario, especially for beginner GM's. When I read through it I got that very same impression. It is a scenario directly made for RPG newbies. During the course of the tournament you get to make all the different skill tests that are there and then there is...

E-mail isn't a form of communication it's a form of being ignored. That depends purely on the recipient. Any business (or person, come to that) worth its salt doesn't ignore ANY form of communication. The channel used should be irrelevant. And if you invite email as a form of communication (often a...

2) For six months I tried to get Chaosium's attention to license some of the Cthulhu properties for an expansion to an upcoming game line we're developing. I got no reply: nothing. At all. Ever. That's not a company that's "happy to license the game". No, that's a company that's crap at responding ...

Re: CoC

I truely love the CoC game. I really like the folks at Chaosium as well. But, I can't really say that the release schedule over there has really inspired me. I know they had money issues, but I sometimes wonder what it would be like if they sold CoC offto a larger company. It would leave them witho...
