Is there a problem with the site today? I tried logging in, but it rejected my password. I tried resetting my password, but never got the e-mail.

Re: VAS 2

Maybe it's just me, but the idea of "doing it properly" doesn't gel with concentrating on computer games and leaving the actual gamers hanging. VaS had huge potential, if only you'd "done it properly" years ago when it was first released. This is a far cry from the company that won awards with ACtA...

Re: Victory at Sea: Ironclad Announcement

Okay, let me get this straight - the rules you said were finished four years ago would take resources away from the rules you claimed were going to be finished seven years ago. If, as you announced, the Ironclad rules were finished, exactly what resources are they going to require that will cause W...

Still no release date for the French base book?
The French Core Book is with our layout people, they are just finishing up some other bits and pieces before the issues with it can be properly resolved.

Re: Victory at Sea: Ironclad Announcement

Given that Mongoose's miniature game for 2012 is still under development, is there any possibility that VaS: Ironclads might be released finally? At least it would distract people like me from the fact that WaS2.0 isn't going to be home before the leaves fall. Even if they fall in 2025. Please note...

Re: Spaceship armor: rhyme and/or reason?

I think that tabletop gaming will evolve into two directions, dead simple rules that speed along play, can be learnt within an hour, that would include vehicle design if it's an option, and will allow gaming sessions to be completed in an afternoon or evening; and ones aided or based on technology....

Re: ISDs - should there be a ESD as well?

Impressed with all the work that went into the rules and background information. Including ISDs is important but should there also be a note of when ships were either retired from service or were sunk - perhaps for the major captial vessels at least? Just a thought..... We have made a few notes lik...

Unless I missed it, I don't see any direct link to the Mongoose free downloads page from anywhere on the main site. I noticed recently when I wanted to download the 2D deck plans and had to do a Google search to find the link. Just thought I'd point it out.
Aware of this, on its way - thanks!

Mongoose News - JTAS Kickstarter - 4 Days to Go!

Greetings, fellow Travellers! The Kickstarter for the new Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society (JTAS) has met every expectation and more - backers will now receive not three but six (six!) Journals for just a £50 pledge. That is 768 pages of Traveller-goodness, in a backers-only slipcase, for just...

Re: State of the Mongoose 2018

Will there be a book about the Third Imperium as a whole? Or only sectorbooks? I remember I read some plans about a Third Imperium sourcebook in the NuTrav core rulebook. This is something we are puzzling over right now - there certainly will be sector books, but we think there probably should be a...

Re: Spaceship armor: rhyme and/or reason?

Traveller is a roleplaying game, not a wargame. This is a big argument for a lot of what happens with larger ships in Traveller - there are historical reasons (the original designs) and universe reasons (the presence of spinal mounts assumed to be the Big Ship killers.... among others) but, it has ...

Re: Cruisers vs a Single Battleship

Bear in mind that destroyers will basically be nailed to evasive! at long range so whatever bonus they get can be considered 'active all the time' - they don't have anything more than the odd popgun so any penalty to return fire is kind of irrelevant. Once they are in range of Big Guns, I think I a...

Re: Cruisers vs a Single Battleship

We are looking at several options for this, but... What if we a) removed the penalty for firing at fast targets and b) put more emphasis on Evasive! (perhaps making it a straight -1 to be hit, rather than forcing re-rolls?)..? You see, destroyers are kind of double-dipping on the penalties to hit, s...
