Re: Deepnight Revelation
We received the Deepnight Revelation Supplement "Far Side of Nowhere" ('DR:FSN' or just 'FSN') as a beta copy yesterday. I'm starting an errata thread here. Please move at your pleasure, if a better thread is or becomes available. FSN, p. 6, MODERN HUMANS box: Modern science has provided the inconve...

Re: Pirates of Drinax - GMs thread
So basically the writer was trying to turn Sindal into the Peoples Republic Of China In Spaaaaaaaace . This nicely explains why the Sindalian Empire was ruled by autocratic "(Star) Dragon Emperors", although with some Scandinavian influences ("Kronshtadt Class Pursuit Ship" and, obviously, Sindal )...

Re: Mongoose News - Drinaxian Companion Ebook & Pre-Order
Adobe deleted 250+ fonts from its repository in the last update, due to ending license agreements. Maybe that's really the problem?

Re: Do Torpol have TL 8 or B?
The problem with the PoD book is that it was built upon the foundation of the MgT1 version of the same campaign. They made a lot of nice additions, obviously, but a few anachronisms were left in. My take on it is that travellermap is canon and you can cross reference it to get the right stats. Indi...

Re: Prevalence of military vets among PCs
I always felt ex-military characters in Traveller were a strong force since CT. Back then, there were three military careers plus scouts in the core rules, but most other occupations were just that: "Other". Now, I started my first Traveller campaign for 15 years or so and my PoD campaign has the fo...

Re: Do Torpol have TL 8 or B?
Except for the PoD package, every source says Torpol is TL8, so I used that. It makes it a bit harder to let them work with a (downgraded) Gionetti-class light cruiser, but that was introduced in the Torpol-Cluster PDF, which mentions TL8. I just ruled most of the crew is from outside, the ship has ...

That was deliberate. It's been covered here on the forum pretty specifically, if I remember correctly.

Re: Passage aboard a Ship & TAS Membership
I would presume that the TAS ticket vouchers are for a jump-1 transit. So, if you want to jump further you would have to sell the ticket, probably to varying prices on the open market—or maybe the TAS offers a buy-back option for 60-80 percent of the value? Then the traveller would have to buy the t...

Re: 2020 Releases
Good to here, there will be no new material on the Aslan in the Aliens volume. I'm also lookinig forward to the Glorious Empurr [couldn't resist] book. I will take the Pirates of Drinax there. I have planned for one of the former romantic interests of our captain to be a (former) slave of that realm...

Re: What is the salary for crew filling two position?
In all honesty, for reasons of simplicity, I'd go with the Classic Traveller rule that a person doing two jobs receives 75 percent of both pay cheques. It's a hard-and-fast rule, certainly, but it works most of the time. Player characters and interesting NPCs are welcome to negotiate, of course.

In what way will the description of the Aslan from PoD Volume 2 differ from the one offered in Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 1?

Re: Does the Aslan Hierate have a symbol?
Not as far as I know. The four largest clans would not have the power to rise above the rest of the Aslan Tlaukhu, the (somewhat) ruling council of 29 clans (literally, Tlaukhu means "3 5", which in Aslan base eight system calculates to 29 in a decimal system). Also, all clans recognize only one tru...
