Lock Picking Skill?

I was going through the skill list earlier today and noticed there is no listed way to pick mechanical locks. Sure, Mechanics or Electronics (Computers) could be used to bypass computerized/electronic locks, but what about low-tech burglary? Would that fall under Profession (Thief)? Or am I missing ...

Also, if anyone is interested, the home for my Star Wars conversion can be found here . Any and all updates will be made there. Link is also in my sig. When you get around to doing starships with hyperdrives, what are the standard speeds you would be using? … Judging by this map and scaling it to a...

Re: TIE/LN à la Traveller

I still question the fission power, you would think the Galactic Empire would use something better. Also a lot of these fighters are equipped with hyperdrives. A TL 12 Fusion plant would fit better. You can run at only 1/2 the base power rating by shutting off non-essentials, and if I remember righ...

Re: TIE/LN à la Traveller

They are, but solar panels generating enough power for an energy-weapon armed space dogfighter is....questionable. Certainly it's not possible within traveller rules. Re: TIE/LN à la Traveller

I'm looking over the Wookiepedia description for the TIE/LN. It has a power source for the weapons and a primary power source for other needs so maybe those are solar panels for a Traveller version. No life support so it can run on half power. Pilot wears a space suit. (These guys are cheap!) Max a...

Re: TIE/LN à la Traveller

I noticed they didn't have solar panels for power. That's what the wings are, solar panels. Right, but solar panels aren't powerful enough to be used in combat, so I omitted them. " Extendible solar panels provide backup power for a ship's power plant…extending their range and endurance. " Extended...

Re: Cepheus City Generator

Ok, here goes! PDF page 4 (no actual numbers on the pages): For settlement creation, do you roll a d6 for a settlement in each hex? Also, first paragraph, you have '80 km' and '80km'. They should both be '80km'. In the madlib seciton (3rd para), there is a curly brace ({) where there should be an op...

Re: TIE/LN à la Traveller

Prejudice: This is a small and cheap, but fragile fighter. I would say the evil Imperial juggernaught deserves better. This is more of a keystone cop? Technical notes: If you use Crystaliron you save some space, for very little extra cost. You might have more armour. A tech advantage or three on th...

TIE/LN à la Traveller

I'm working on a Star Wars conversion to Traveller (MGT2e) and thought I'd share my TIE fighter. I went with a sphere hull since it's partially streamlined—I can't imagine those flat wings make it easy to manoeuvre in atmosphere! And yes, I know some people say you can't have two weapons on a firmpo...

Re: Chair size on deckplans

I agree that chairs are large on the deckplans, but I see them more as icons making the deckplans easier to read, chairs and tables = common rooms, cargo crates = cargo hold, weapon racks = armory and so on. Not necessarily the exact layout of the room, more of a Quick reference. QFT. The deck plan...

Re: Art: New project Heavy Cargo Ship WIP

4 triple turrets seems excessive for a cargo hauler. If you want pirate defense, I'd go for one—maybe two at most. And single turrets, unless it was a weapon/sandcaster double.

With the release of Netflix's Voltron: Defender of the Universe season 2 today, I hope the Vehicle Handbook contains rules for combining mecha!

It is hinted at in the CRB.

Re: High Guard - Errors?

Here is half a dozen ships I've looked over. I tried to do my best to double check my results. I'll do more later. Light Fighter No price was given for weapon mount or weapon. Should be 1 MCr for the weapon, and 0.1 MCr for the fixed mount. Final price should be MCr 9.09 … I noticed a few discrepan...

Re: Spacecraft Dogfighting Modifiers

The other modifiers in the same table are clearly cumulative, so I have to assume they are all cumulative. That's what I thought, but the fact that the 100dT is -2 makes me think that the 50+ isn't additive. Or else it would be -1 for each criteria met. Is the jump from 50dT to 100dT that much of a...

Spacecraft Dogfighting Modifiers

On page 162 of the core rule book, there is a table listing modifiers for dogfighting. Are the modifiers Additive or not? For example, according to the table, if I have a 300dT starship it would get a DM-5 to dogfighting rolls. It's over 50dT, so -1, over 100dT is -2, and an additional -2 for each 1...

Picked this up last night and just had the opportunity to read through it. It's pretty much GOLD for anyone trying to do a Stargate game!

I did notice a few errors and have a few questions about how it all works. Is it cool to post it all here, or should I email you or something?

Re: Automated Ships

… Minor nit-pick: Intellect programs only allow INT and EDU skills. Pilot is a DEX skill. On page 155 in the core rulebook under automated duties, it says "A ship running an Intellect program and Expert Pilot can act as the pilot.". That is why I have it listed. Ah, my bad. I missed that part. Woul...

Re: Automated Ships

Sorry. I got a little distracted with designing ships with external cargo mounts. I'll pack my ideas up and get back on topic. The software I used with automated ships are the following: Intellect 1 Expert 2 (Pilot) Expert 2 (Astrogation) Expert 2 (Engineering J-Drive) Expert 2 (Engineering M-Drive...
