Re: What do you think of this TL 16 Lie Detector?

There is a book called "Barking Dogs" by Terence M. Green about a cop who gets an infallible lie detector. It's worth a read and delves into the morality of such a device. Available on Amazon.

I am interested in what unofficial skills your cousin has listed on their sheet. What skills needed to be invented for their Traveller game?

Re: Help with calculating cargo lots

I think the confusion Varulv had in the original post is that there is a lot of cargo available for a trader at every port. A ship with 64 tons of cargo space will have to pick and choose which lots to take to maximize the total amount of cargo carried. The backpack challenge is to look at all the c...

Re: A few suggestions for The Drinax Companion

There is big money in fuel, and a lot of ships have the ability to make 20 tons per day. That's 10 000 credits worth a day. Since a month's wages for the Pilot is 6000 a couple of weeks of fuel production pays for the year. This is only true if there is a demand for the fuel, granted. I think there ...

Re: A few suggestions for The Drinax Companion

All true. I admit to some tongue in cheek reading of the High Guard rules.

A hidden base with fuel storage and repair drones able to help patch up damage to a pirate ship is far more realistic.

Re: A few suggestions for The Drinax Companion

The hidden Class B pirate base of Tambny Dour described on page 268 is a bit of an oddity. The asteroid where it is hidden must be pretty good. Requirements for a class B starport are Docking Space: 50 000 tons Fuel Refinery: 1000 tons per day capacity of refined fuel. This can take anywhere from 66...

Yeah, that makes it worse in my case, I have pdfs and scrolled through the book. Forgot about the search function. Just one of those brain fade days.

Drinax Ships Encounters MOR stat

Every ship in the Ships Encounters books has a section called MOR, with a number following it. I cannot figure out what that number means. Total brain fade moment. Can anyone help me out please?

Re: How would you rate this deal?

I have posted serious responses to the questions if the question is coherent. On repetition I repeat the answer and quote the original thread. On silly questions I ignore the thread. Others point out the silliness. At some point I may just ignore any posts, or use the ignore button. It's a question ...

I'll take a swing at this Moppy: I think folks are getting tired of having the same silliness posted over and over again. The deal post. Nov 21 2019 about a deal. Re: Would Oleb be dumb enough?

Oleb not the brightest ruler alive? He's 105 years old and has a steady supply of anagathics, possibly synthetic from the Scholar's Tower. He has survived long enough on a Floating City full of relatives and enemies for decades. He has had a TL 15 raiding ship restored, kept the Ducal codes from the...

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

Find a really big asteroid, hollow it out and build whatever you want. Hide the asteroid as a processing plant/spacestation concept. Or build a secret fleet in an empty hex. You just have to move all the material into the empty hex.

Re: 1 question on Huscarle Fleets

Make Breakaway hulls of 1000 tons each. Each section has M Drive, J Drive (if you want to Jump), and weapons for a 1000 ton ship. have the ships connect together with connectors and you can string a chain of them together. The only thing you cannot make is the really large spinal weapons. Then again...

Re: What happens if 2 black globes touch?

I got to thinking about how long before someone tries to build a Black Globe generator to power a planet. As AnotherDilbert points out the globe absorbs planet + atmosphere per turn when a globe is activated on a planet. You could store up a lot of power in surface capacitors and use the power for t...

Once again with a a Drinax campaign that lasts 13 years. How many sessions did you play to get through 13 years of game time? How do you roleplay the events you described?

Re: How do you rate my strictly by the rules Drinax

Personally I think it sounds like a game I would not want to play, and strikes me as a waste of time. All your players do is roll on the Dilettante portfolio table, then buy ships or hire mercenaries. Or your campaign runs for decades. I mean if it works for you, go for it, your game, your rules. ge...

Re: Ship Construction idea: Piggyback external Mounts

I agree that external cargo mounts are excellent. My only concern is how many tons you can create mounts for on a ship. 1st edition Scoundrel book has a couple of pages of cargo handling and external cargo mounts. Page 87 has a ship construction example of deciding between a 1200 ton ship or a 400 t...
