I often use recurring bad guys in my Dredd campaign, with stoyr lines following on from one another. Best way I have found to do this is introduce the bad guy indirectly (through runours at the Secotr House, News Broadcasts, the daily briefings or messages from control). Then I tend to introduce dis...

Hi Ned, thanks for your comments but the umpty reference is not a mistake. You are confusing regular umpty with one specific brand/recipe (the illegal stuff). Umpty is a type of candy (sans sugar). It is Uncle Umps Umpty Candy which is illegal. Not all umpty. For Reference: In the Complete Case File...

I've just re read the one with Yu Tse - the mystic form Philadelphia. Is that an innocent, but powerless man being electrocuted for information on a Judge's whim? I think, after twenty five years, I'm beginning to get the point about satire.... Not a citizen = No rights (or very, very few). I think...

The Authorities can get away with anything if they fool people into giving consent, by trying to make it sound like a order. It's always good to ask if its a request or a order. A lot of people are pressured into making confessions. This is and has been a staple of law enforcement. It is also a sta...

The North West Hab zone was once part of the city proper, but during the apocalypse war the sectors surrounding it were nuked, leaving a small number of sectors physically isolated from the rest of the city. The area consists of 'normal' city sectors (can't remember how many, four to half a dozen), ...

The Bicorn. Sounds like a two-horned variant of the Unicorn. What Ukko was talking about after Slaine's Coranation. You know that well fed , corpulant beast that fed on hen-pecked husbands and the other that was skin n bones starving because it could only feed on faithful spouces. The bicorn is a t...

I may look at producing my own, long-running (several times) JD campaign in addition to the official Mongoose material. It is one of a couple of campaigns where players come back to me asking when I can run it again, years after they played in it. I was tidying up my house when I found all my old Dr...

Plenty of others to get working on - those Celts sure liked their B's!

Not quite dead... I am working on two Slaine books at the moment - a campaign 'The Baileoisin chronicles' and a sourcebook 'Creatures of Tir Nan Og'. Both of these are personal projects that I work on in my spare time (rather than as part of my job at Mongoose), so will take a little time to put tog...

I do have Briggs in front of me... Today I have done three critters for the letter H - completely arbitrary place to start, but why not? These include the Heartless and Homuncus from the D20 slaine campaign, and the hobyah. I will also be adding the henky (intelligent and sociable trolls (but only s...

I also would like to throw my lot in with SD as a=n easier setting for a RPG. There are possibilities of things to do on Nu Earth (and beyond - although Nu Earth is the most familiar setting for the war between the Norts and Southers there are other battlefields as well (although the stories set on ...

Well, the Asgard critters might have to wait, it depends on how many Celtic beasties there are out there.

I do hope to do an Asgard book at some point - although that is a few yeaqrs away, at least.

Thanks guys

This is something that I will be looking at to include in the BoC as erata with amendments to these two skills. (I will also look to amend the Slaine rulebook so future printings will have these changes already in).

Any other suggestions...

Creature of Tir Nan Og update thread

Similar to the Balieoisin thread, this one will be for updates to the other Slaine title I am doing some work on - tentatively called 'Creatures of Tir Nan Og'. CoTNO will be a listing of creatures to use in the Slaine RPG, concentrating on providing stats for animals not in the main rulebook (Slain...

Nice to hear that Slaine Runequest is still breathing. I thought it was dieing. I haven't problem with the rules at all. But was wondering if a Slaine Monster Manuel could be made. With speical Slaine beasties in it. Yadda Yadda Yadda, A 'El Worlds Guide' A guide for Dinas Emrys fortress and it's s...

Well, I will have more time free to get going on these. But we will see (I know one very good writer (and who is incredibly easy to edit) who wants to do something on Slaine)). (I may also have a little help from others, which will be very important in getting things done). Now for a little update o...

Nothing will be coming from MOngoose as a Mongoose led projecty, this does not mean that we staff are incapable of producing projects ourselves and coming up with a spanking good product printed and distributed via MOngoose. I am working my way through a Slaine campaign and do hope to have a release...
