The ones I've visited carry GW, SST and a few others, but I don't think I've seen ACtA there. I think you're going to have to call...

Re: Babylon 5 Wars 3rd Edition

Is there anyone who owns any license/rights on the B5W system?? The rights to the B5W reverted with the B5 license. That's why they released a "Fleet Action" generic background, but not a regular scale one: AoG retained the rights to the Fleet Action game system, but not the other. I generally like...

I voted no, for a few reasons. My definition of "easily" does not include mail order for the US or UK. That means asking game stores to stock two parallel lines of minis, a.k.a. stocking enough for two separate game systems. I'm also less than convinced that it is trivial to divert product stream in...

I like pre-paints; I've been avoiding this game, since I never have any time to paint, much less spend a few hours putting 16 Cap Troopers in individual poses. I have to chime in against selling at WalMart, though. Even if you don't care about FLGS's (which would be foolish), WalMart doesn't sell yo...

Sorry, but I just don't buy your interpretation of the PL system. The EA never fought in a war before 2255? Because they don't have any War-level choices with in service dates before then. (And boy, don't tell the Dilgar or Minbari.) The Drazi have never fought a war, ever? Not even against the Dil...

Your not getting it, that is allready what your race would commit to a war level fleet. It may not be enough, but its what you can bring to the dance. You dont get to double it because your race may not have the resources to commit that much. Sorry, but I just don't buy your interpretation of the P...

what is interesting about the PL levels is that it shows what each race would bring to the dance at that level of commitment. This SHOULD not be equal or tweaked for balance. Except that the Minbari appear to use Sharlins for commerce raiding, for patrols, for massive attacks; really for just about...

@whoever was comparing whining about the poor tournament players.... I don't know the figures, but I'd be surprised to find that more players buy stuff that ARE tournement players than are not, so, as some one put it, if its making the $/£/€/¥ that counts, they'll likely lose (now thats setting mys...

You just haven't actually read anything you quoted, have you? let me explain. I argue my case, and my case only. You, if you have any sense, argue your case. We end up in a compromise, neither entirely happy, neither entirely unhappy. But, and here's the important bit, the more you compromise at th...

Now there, you see, you lose my interest immediately. I'm a wargamer and a roleplayer, I have no interest whatsoever in tournament play. I play ACtA as simulation, as tactical exercise, as roleplay, but never purely as game . So, should I temper my arguments to allow for the other man's point of vi...

Actually, your expected number of hits goes up too. <statistician> With normal stealth: X ~ Bernoulli(p) E(X) = pAD With individual stealth: Y ~ Bi(AD,p) E(Y) = pAD Which is the expected number of AD that get to make a to-hit roll, and as the chance each dice makes the hit roll is the same for both...

<statistician>Actually, no. You get the same Expected number of hits, but the distribution of hits changes dramtically.</statistician> Actually, your expected number of hits goes up too. After the first game where they can't make 9 out of 10 Stealth rolls, you'll lose opponents. By increasing the n...
