Re: Dark Eon Assassin

Interesting - the sample art work here looks very nice. To compete with the raft of beautifully produced board games around these days, it needs to be of, course. But, this looks very good.

Re: Dark Eon Assassin

I see there's now a list of contents and a preview - unfortunately the link to it doesn't seem to work. Is it just me?

Re: Stars Without Number

Just to be perverse, perhaps, but I always prefer books in hardback. I find that more than any other tome, RPG books take a battering as they are passed around the table and frequently rifled through. Offering two formats for a book is the best option then, so as to keep 'everyone' happy - I just wo...

A look inside Dark Eon Assassin?

I think we should be given a glimpse inside this upcoming game. FFG do a brilliant job of revealing the contents/theme/rules of their games ahead of time. Dark Eon Assassin sounds really good - and I would like to see the quality and composition of the components inside.

I've got a pretty hefty collection of Mongoose books - ranging in quality from mediocre to excellent. I'd put Deus Vult (and RQ 2) right near the top. That said, it's fair to point out that the vast majority of Mongoose books would benefit from more careful editing. Quite a few typos seem to slip th...

I can recommend the setting. It offers a diverse range of roleplaying opportunities, from undercover operations to straight-up monster hunts. Lots of fun - and deserves to be pushed more than it has been, I'd say.

'Arawn76', I'd like to add my thumbs-up for Deus Vult. My RPG group has taken a break from our campaign - after playing it solidly for 10 months! We all really enjoyed it, and shall pick things up again around Christmas.

There is certainly something 'zeitgeisty' about zombies at the moment. They're everywhere. That could provide inspiration for a sourcebook that would slot into a generic modern-day rules set.

Fading Suns RPG - any time scale?

I'm sure I remember reading that Mongoose would be releasing/distributing this game? Any news as to when?

A Game with a Contemporary Setting

Mongoose has fantasy settings sewn-up with RQ2/Legend, and science fiction with Traveller...but what about something closer to home? I, for one, love flitting between genres when I change from one game to another. It helps establish a different ambience - new setting, new rules, new characters, and ...

I've got a Decados dread waiting for some paint. Looking at it on the page, it seems an impossibly tough beast but you've given me something to think about certainly.

Cruisers, by comparison, appear to lack such devastating firepower. That transition from page to game is always tricky, though.

Dreadnoughts - how do they effect games?

With their immense size and firepower, I was wondering whether the presence of these monsters in a game throws everything off? Do the antics of frigates and the like become a bit inconsequential - or can they effectively gang-up and still have a say?
