Forum problems...

I think we are using PHBB software for this forum and thought the Mongoose guys might want to see this. I have no idea if this site could be affected, but I figured it couldn't hurt to let you guys know :) http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=22379&mode=thread&order=0 This will be informal so...

Here's one more Victory At Sea one, and a couple more Battlefield ones. These are only very low res, quickly done tests. If I put more time into them they would be a lot better, but they will do for now to see if anyone has any interest in them :) http://img424.imageshack.us/img424/8068/icetestsz4.t...

Victory At Sea/Battlefield test maps...

Just thought i'd upload these and see what people think of them. They are some test maps for Victory At Sea, I only did them on a whim after being inspired by the Victory At Sea articles. The maps in Signs And Portents were fine, but for playing a fairly barren sea game it would probably help to hav...

Re: Why bother?

One problem. Why would I want to pay that much money to honor a long series of pastiches, many of whom aren't any good? I refuse to validate the second rate hacks who cashed in on the Conan. I do realize that there are some good authors and genuine artist spirits in the mix (Roy Thomas among them),...

Hardcovers?

Are the Hyborias Fiercest, Finest and Fallen books hardcovers or softcovers? It doesn't say so on the site that's all :)

For what it is worth, I prefer not to go searching for everything myself, so I like the way the books were written. Just purely because it saves flipping through the book every time a rule is mentioned. Not that it is that much of a problem if you have to, it just makes things quicker.

I can't wait to read the next novels, I loved the Shotgun Mike one. It was really gritty, and felt like a war novel, and not an unrealistic mech battle etc. Have you written any other novels MJD?

I agree, the realism of the setting is what I like the most. Everything is rooted in history and logical extrapolation of todays hardware. I love Mechwarrior too, but it's so far in the future that it doesn't have the same "gritty" feel

Damn! Now I need it! Even if you don't play Conan, it's worth buying if you have a slight interest in the Hyborian world and Conan books Man, I'm in! When I bought the Core book I thought that although I couldn't get a party to play with, the book has covered its price just with the gazeteer. Then ...

I was just thinking it would be cheaper to compile the existing stuff for the most part, besides the conversions to 3.5. I see a lot of companies doing that with their older lines, putting a bunch of books together into one. I know the sales were not as massive as Conan or anything, but there was so...

Battletech/Mechwarrior was able to be played as both an RPG and wargame so I don't see why A2089 couldn't as well. The setting is amazing, and has plenty of room for both an RPG and wargame. Personally, I would be very happy to see some prepainted miniatures for it ala Mechwarrior, but I am not sure...

There is a novel (that I am a quarter the way through reading at the moment) but other than that, no. There was a lot of talk about a new edition in a box set of some kind, but nothing concrete has been announced yet unfortunately. I will be first in line to buy it when it comes out though :)

I would say it has been the best release so far (that I have read) in the Conan line, which is saying something as there have been plenty of great ones. Even if you don't play Conan, it's worth buying if you have a slight interest in the Hyborian world and Conan books, there's some great information...

I don't think it's any stupider than Conan running into battle in just a pair of furry underpants :) Yet Big John Buscema made it look like it made perfect sense. To the credit of Mel Rubi he has also made the Sonja comic feel like it could be real - it doesn't come off as too cheesy - the writing ...
