When I first picked up the Lone Wolf books back in the late 80's I really loved them. Lone Wolf did things that other characters just simply didn't have to do in other gamebooks (like Fighting Fantays for example, the The Way of the Tiger Ninja roleplaying gamebooks are an exeption). Lone Wolf often...

Personaly I must admi that I felt let down by the LWRPG art :(. It just seems like it could be better (but then I suppose I've still got fond memories of the classic Lone Wolf illustrations, new players won't even have that so their perceptions will be based on what they see now). For example, the i...

Re: Build yourself a Kai Lord

When looking at the Kai Lord from a roleplayer's perspective this seems pretty close to how I'd chose them. The list may come across as being a bit powergamed but when I extend it through the magnakai disciplines then the order I'd advance in is anything but (not gaining the first lore circle 'till ...

Would it be possible for someone to compile a list of the Lone Wolf articles in S&P so we'll know if we've missed anything? As far as I know there's been 2 detailing a small village/town outside of Toran (which I don't have) and the Toranese archer (which I do).

Are there any others I'm not aware of?

In the end of Book 5 Lone Wolf tries to use the Sommerswerd (if he has it) but it sputters and fizzles, being underground and away from the sunlight. Darklord Haakon must be fought (and if you've got The Darklands supplemen Haakon's lethal.) The only balancing factor that makes it achievable is that...

The Kalkoth illustration in Book 3 doesn't have 6 legs. Why does the LWRPH bestiary say that Kalkoth have 6 legs?

I personally cannot wait to read through this excellent sounding adventure once I recieve it, (even though it is for level 1 characters :x ). As is usual with the Lone Wolf products it's incredibly wel thought out and maybe a little on the short side. I'd call it almost as well thought out as Blood...

I'm with Bewildered Badger on this one: if you go back to d20 core rules for reference damage resistance never stops energy damage from spells (by which I mean elemental damage such as fire or electricity or cold etc). And energy resistance never stops physical damage frm weapons. A nice and simple ...

Now I actualy managed to survivie this through sheer luck and a little rules knowledge. The first time I played through Flight From the Dark with the LWRPG I was effectively playtesting the Kai Lord class and had intentionaly gone for a non combat focussed selection of disciplines based on my previo...

The Kai Lord in the Lone Wolf RPG is not as powerful as he may seem. I have spotted one major weakness in the class (if you want to go on about strengths and weaknesses) and that is the lack of armour proficiency. If a Kia Lord wears armour he's likely to lose efficiency in many of his skills. Now, ...

I'd be interested in either running or playing in a game. I usualy get stuck GMing stuff and so I don't get to play often but this is the Lone Wolf series which I've known and loved since 1987 so how could I miss the chance to run a few adventures? Hopefuly there'll be a few more people interested s...

Re: Dawn of Destruction - Problems

Also, I think the most obvious rules mistake that springs to mind is that a level 17 Brother of the Crystal Star uses a Grand Word of Motion...which isn't a power he can use before level 20. Has anyone else noticed similar problems? The following round, Verais activates an item in his possession th...
