Re: Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

If the rate of fire is one missile every six minutes, counter battery fire makes the remaining ordnance superfluous. That is when things like camouflage, pre-sited revetments, forward observers and indirect fire come into play. a starship has nowhere to hide. a missile truck has hundreds of square ...

Okay here is the missile version of the mobile weapons carrier http://img05.deviantart.net/a5ed/i/2017/053/e/f/missile_truck_by_wbyrd-db029it.png it carries two separate canisters. It can fire either ship killers, or conventional surface to air missiles. as needed. An ammunition carrier or multiple ...

Re: Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

I really like the renderings. What software program is this? And I second the concept of a power source via batteries or small fusion power plant in a separate vehicle sitting off to one side of the weapon, with power cables. If it's a missile launcher, then the second vehicle can store extra missi...

Re: Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

The main planetary defense installation described in canon is the deep meson gun, built so deep that even a nuclear bomb isn't going to hurt it worse than sealing one of its heat dissipation outlets and blind one of its sensor arrays. Counter measures for that include meson screens, sensor blinding...

Re: Illustration, rough stats: Personal Grav Pod

I was skipping through the Clone Wars, spotted it and looked it up. The wings fold and appear to have solar panelling, a hint of the future. I like it its a handy little combat pod, great for scouting or infantry support. give it a couple of plasma guns in fixed mounts or Light Autocannons if yer f...

Here's a quick size comparison for typical bullets...10mm is not visibly much larger than a 9mm, https://www.pewpewtactical.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Common-Bullet-Calibers-768x443.jpg Asnub pitol wud have odd dimensions but not particularly clumsy its short length to height would give it an od...

Re: Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

Missiles don't need power, just the turret, so a 1 ton battery and a missile turret on the back of a truck could launch a starship grade missile at a ship. And turrets only cost 1 point of power, so a battery would last for 6 hours without a need to plug into anything. Good idea I'llplay around and...

Re: Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

Is the gun a starship-class laser weapon? For the deployed version you might want to show it's portable power source. It might not need to be a reactor, just some power cells, perhaps with an MHD or fuel-cell generator to give it local recharging capabilities over time. The weapon operators could a...

Roug concept: Mobile anti ship guns, with illustration

Working on a rough idea for a mobile, and self-propelled gun for use against starships. http://img00.deviantart.net/e346/i/2017/052/a/e/mobile_guass_guns_by_wbyrd-dazw1ab.png Since yu can wedge a starship weapon onto a vehicle, and vehicle weapons can't really do much significant damage to a starshi...

Alrigt headed over and checked out the preview..I think I'll be picking this one up come payday :D

It looks like you have put some thought and effort into the idea, and supplied some very useful info for the Ref and player...definitely worth the money.

Re: Ship's Locker: Out of the Closet

As regards to the Nineteen Eleven Semi Automatic, the forty five calibre was adopted as a manstopper. The Moros were probably high on drugs, did have a death wish and bound up their body, I think to minimize blood loss, and revolvers run out of bullets pretty fast. I read a statistic that you usual...

You could use external cargo clamps to secure cargo to the pod.

Re: Ship's Locker: Out of the Closet

I've been told that if you're shot, you're out of action; considering we have accounts of the walking wounded fighting, I think that's temporary and not necessarily lethal, not wishing to test that theory on myself. http://www.rc-trucks.org/Tiny-Revolvers.jpg Is a twenty two long rifle lethal? Yes,...

Re: GRAV CARGO SLED

Yeah, you see that all the time when 18 wheelers jack-knife in snow and rain. GM can give more negatives or simply add a "bane" dice when doing stunts in a vehicle towing a sled. I've seen the bloody things jack knife, on a dry road and a clear day. I also witnessed two guys( on tow separate occasi...

Re: GRAV CARGO SLED

You can try the stunt, but be a -2 fllyer/drive roll per the towing rule on page 3. I tend to imagine it's a bit trickier than a -2 to do a 180 slide with a trailer in tow... and a grav vehicle doing an Immelmann turn with a trailer following along might end up with the trailer going one way and th...

The autogyros are nifty little aircraft, very short takeoff run, and they won't stall, and if the engine dies they autorotate to the ground. if you crash in an autogyro either a rotor came off, or you flew it into something. Or you flew it over one too many SPECTRE bases hidden inside Japanese volc...

I actually got the idea for one of the old prototype flight packs fro eh guys who worked on bells jet Packs. they got their hands on a small je egine from an early air-breathing missile and used it...and were able to maintain flight for 30 minutes. Unfortunately, both Bell and the army had lost inte...

Re: GRAV CARGO SLED

if someone wanted one in my game I''d allow it. You could add a basic autopilot or drone rig to the build if you wanted to allow for the control mechanism and its "Follow me" ability. I'd also add a bit of text cautioning against trying anything more than basic maneuvers with a trailer in tow. there...
