Re: The Physics of Space Battles

A sphere is the most efficient form as far as space and maneuvering in space goes. However there is where economy/tactics comes in. when a ship is under fire, you want as little f the ship exposed to incoming fire a possible. one it makes a harder target, and two you can armor the exposed sections m...

Re: The Physics of Space Battles

Yeah, space battles would be fairly dull to look at. No bright bolts of energy, no roaring thrusters, no twisting turning dogfights. You can simulate real world physics, and limitations fairly well, but for the most part it takes some of the excitement out of the mix. realistic simulations rapidly b...

Re: Introducing myself.

I understand your point. If I were building them realistically they would all vaguely resemble a nuke sub with modules and pods built around the pressure hull and connected by crawl-ways to the working portions of the ship. That's actually pretty much how I design them. It is surprisingly easy to d...

Re: Introducing myself.

Good Luck! Bit of advice on deckplans, remember these are 3 dimensional moving objects not buildings. Many of Mongooses deckplans are building masquerading as ships. I understand your point. If I were building them realistically they would all vaguely resemble a nuke sub with modules and pods built...

Re: Introducing myself.

oh, yeah...I'll happily admit a few things I added I had some guidance from other sources to draw on. so if ya see something familiar don't think I am going to claim all the credit. The selection is not even all the ships I have on my machine, I had to drop a number of vessels to stay under the page...

Re: Introducing myself.

Will these be a general assortment of ships or will they be following a theme? And hello. Thanks for the welcome. I tried to give an assortment of ships, ranging from smallcraft, commercial vessels, and mercenary ships. They are all under 3000 tons, and I tried to make them as useful as possible. I...

Re: Introducing myself.

Excellent! Welcome and I look forward to buying your book! Traveller has a lot of ships, but not a lot of IDEAS about ships. I look forward to what you have come up with. Thanks for the welcome fellas. ======== I hope my ideas alleviate the need somewhat. Ideas are sometimes hard to come by.Its wor...

Re: Introducing myself.

I thought the name looked familiar...

I've wanted more toys to play with myself. I know people love the old standby ships, I'm hoping that my vessels will be a good fit with the older ships.

Introducing myself.

Hi, decided to introduce myself. I am assuming I am not breaking some rule, or shooting myself in the foot here so if I am..<hand wave> I was not here, this post never happened and these are not the droids you are looking for... A few months ago I submitted a few samples,I saw the writers wanted pos...
