Hey, anybody noticed that the hull number of the Clarkstown is the same with the Hyperion? I didn't... For all we know, if you saw the side of that second ship it would say "Hyperion". There is a fan site that really dug into the fine details of the ships. Their explanation is that the early...

Over 20 years ago I kit-bashed an SFB Klingon starbase. I used the windshield from a Darth Vader Tie fighter model for the core shape and 1/700 dual 5" turrets (without barrels) as the six ship bays. Now THAT, I wanna see! Alright. The D5 cruiser is supposed to fit into one of the pod...

Re: ACTA & Fleet Action?

Burger wrote:Ahem, then how is it that the Prometheus (a Hyperion of all things - not even an Omega or Warlock) managed to start the Earth/Minbari War? ;)
Why, that's simple. The lowly Earthers got a lucky hit by shooting through one of those open Minbari gun ports.

Note, in the absense of 'official' mongoose counters, you can certainly d/l the current Vassal mod, extract the images from that zip file, then cut and paste the images you want into a document and print them out onto whatever stock you'd like. I've tried it myself, and the resulting counters are f...

This is a bit of a compromise between the "circle" faction and the "box/rectangle" faction. The graphics are intended to be in proportion to the Mongoose miniatures that many may have currently. This way, the "ships" can be played alongside of a partial collection of the metal versions. Rules...

I'd think that a circle would be the best for turning. It really does not matter though, as whatever base geometry Mongoose decides upon can be altered by the player. A circle could be superimposed on a square counter so that the players could decide for themselves I suppose. I cannot think of any s...

Well, I have indeed made those before. I have several for use as LoS where you need to look at where the unit is with table topography in play. But it is much simpler to use one of the turning key designs here for a situation where you would need to turn but the player is not able to look straight ...

Lines or no lines, I don't care either way, but I agree that it messes up the ship detail on many pictures. Chern I agree. One option is to drop any sighting lines under the ship graphic (a compromise) or just go with the edge marks and leave the center of the counter for the ship graphic and cente...

Hell, count me in too. BTW if this common venture we're starting here gets a hold of all the masters we should be able to keep making models for ourselves at material costs (no selling though). Right? I'd think probably not. Matt would most likely want to control the master and orchestrate t...

Chern, nothing wrong with that. While some didn't want the lines I had shown, I was thinking they might allow for quick eyeball sights for ease of knowing which targets were in which arcs. Removing the lines looks a bit better visually but might require a straightedge placement to verify arcs more o...

All of the evidence to me says that they are not selling the core studio models, just the "extras" and some prototypes. I'd think that they'll continue to support the game (since that was what Matt had said) and they would still want the studio models. Besides, if they were to use overhead model pho...
