Hydras in Legend

I just noticed that hydras have somehow eluded both RQII and Legend, so I decided to try fixing this issue....not an easy task for a variable-head beast, as it turns out! Anyway, I uploaded it here for any interested in looking at it, offering suggestions, or what not: http://www.4shared.com/documen...

Re: A Question regarding Monsters of Legend Content

Offhand, no. There's technically more content in Monster Colisuem, since it has the Glorantha-specific monsters and arena combat rules. Legend provides all the generics but it definitely needs a "Monsters of Legend II" to follow up with some of the holes left in the mix: no beastmen types (to replac...

Re: Legend for just $1!

Kick ass.... Got it, got Monsters of Legend too while I was at it. Still waiting for the print copies to come in (they are on the way though) but the $1 deal is a real boon, as it will make it much easier to convince skeptical cohorts to buy and try, as I've been telling all my players for years tha...

Re: Spirit Magic for Legend

Awesome, glad to have this.

@Harshlax: The Monsters of Legend (snagged the PDF last night) has a superior layout and presentation of information to Monster Coliseum, fyi; it is easy to determine what stat block belongs to which monster, and it fixed the MC problem of guess about such.

Re: Legend - Core Rulebook Now Out + Open Content Info

Very exciting news here....I've got "All Legend" on pre-order request at the FLGS, but may break down and order one through direct since it takes 4-8 weeks from "time it shows up online" to "time FLGS says they have it."

Re: No Spirit Magic in Legend?

Matt, will the spirit magic rules get formally published in a future Legend book? They were one of the better new features of RQII. Matt just answered this question. Yes, in a separate book, available free. I must have missed it; the post I saw indicated it would be available as a web download but ...

It could always be worse....just look at what D&D has fractured into for contrast! The market that's available for DnD games is huge in comparison to the available market for any RQ game. But really there's only 2 serious contenders for DnD, DnD 4th ed and Pathfinder. Most of that is brand recognit...

Re: Legend playable races?

The elf is probably a little overpowered. Since all his stats except for Strength is just plainly better or the same as his human counterpart. And for some reason, not many elves can use a longbow. Only about 1 in 6. Which is a bit odd. But the dwarf seems pretty balanced to a human. Because elfs w...

I'll just pony up for Legend and RQ6 both as they are released/re-released. It's the only way to be supportive on both fronts, and if I get both then I can hedge my bets toward whichever edition ends up lasting the longest anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion that the RQ6 book is going to be a collec...

Put be down for a copy of Wanderer if it ever goes from mock-up to reality... :o As for the logo, I admit I've never been confused about the use of the original Runequest logo on the main page. Apparently it sets off the OCD in some people...? Its a shame to see Mongoose get bashed for what is actua...

So how would one go about volunteering here? I've got a fairly large stack of RQII friendly content I wouldn't mind submitting. Impale! sounds good. Although, for extra fun you could call it "Pathfarer, the Magazine for Wayfinders and Glyph-hunters" (okay, I see the cane coming to pull me off ...

MC has Gloranthan monsters in it, so I presume they will be excised when the book is reissued. Will Monster Island be integrated into the new volume or is that project dead? RuneQuest has always had "Gloranthan" monsters in every non-specific setting, e.g. QuestWorld, Fantasy Europe, etc. in the sa...

The book is a compilation of adventured from S&P, so they're all already available, but many of them will be written for MRQ1. Ah, so it's pretty much a "best of" then? Well I can see the reasoning for that. It worked well in 1st edition d&d. Those 'best of dragon' sold and were crazy popular for a...

Ugh....damn. Why do I have this horrible feeling that RQII is on the way out already....and it just got here! No Blood Magic, no Monster Island, no RQ Adventures....and on the list remains one setting book that (while admittedly looking cool) is in all likelihood not going to be very useful to me. S...

Can I make my own world?. Sure, but isn't that the publishers job?. People don't want to make new worlds. I see that people may not want to make their own worlds but "the publisher's job"? That's similar to the situation with music these days - most people have become consumers of other people's mus...

The grand daddy of solo RPGs is Tunnels & Trolls...it's still available by and large with a fair number of solos and both the 5.5 and 7.5 editions in print. You could check out Fiery Dragon and Flying buffalo if you were interested in avenerable classic RPG with a lot of quirky flavor and at least 3...

The problem with a WoW paper and pencil RPG is it directly competes with both the game it emulates (D&D) and the game it is based on (WoW the MMO Megastar). The only edge is if the MMOers buy the RPGs for "lore" material...which I think most of the sales on the White Wolf books were for (I think I h...
