ShadowScout, Is it precisely necessary to be that particular about everything ? I stand by my answer and will continue to do so. It was good enough for our playtesters, it was good enough for our editors, it was good enough for JMS, and it should be good enough for 90% of the gamers who will pick up...

Gee, Tallgeese. If we did that, you wouldn't have anything to complain about. :) Seriously though, I accept full blame for the map mistake, although it is not a map mistake. The problem came in a paragraph that somehow did not get into the final version of the book. The planets are alike because one...

People's milage may vary with this book, but I hope that everyone who reads it takes something away from it that they can use. As long as they can say that, I will be satisfied.

Khazakhstan is both a source book and a campaign/scenario guide. It fills both roles equally and can be useful in either capacity. The Player's Handbook is somewhat required, but most of what you need can be obtained simply by using the free System Resource Document available on the web. Take care, ...

Someone really needs to learn that the date at the top of the message is when it was posted. It has been a few weeks, but not nearly three months. I was waiting to make certain that the modifications would stay in the text before answering. Yes; you will get a full write-up on Lyta, including what w...

Just to chime in here with something official:

Whenever a vessel with carrier capacity is given a writeup, the Pilots listed in its Crew are for the main ship only.

Thanks, guys. My health has gone horribly down hill this year, but I am happy to say that things are finally looking better for me... and consequently for the books I am working on. Lynx, I don't think you'll be disappointed in the reworked Ranger at all. I love the way it turned out... Thanks for t...

I can answer that one. The PRC will be in the upcoming Season 3 book, which I will also take a shot for the team for by saying that if it gets delayed, it will be because of my surgery last month and continuing health issues. :(

But never fear, you will have it. That I promise you!

Hassan has this essentially correct. The Crew figure is the number of individuals that the ship requires in order to operate efficiently. Most vessels carry a serious number of overage to cover combat losses, shift rotations, and non-critical personnel. For a real world example, take a look on the n...

Point of note, I do not believe I ~ever~ said characters should not get to high levels. That would be rediculous. I encourage people to play long and hard enough to reach the upper echelons of power. I only stated that the main characters will not get to 20th level (more than likely) before the end ...

The telepaths that serve the religious caste would catch a latent telepath long before he got very far in his training to join the Anla'shok. If no duplicity was intended, he might become a liaison for them, but if it was done intentionally... well... that might go poorly.

Fair enough; the massive damage threshhold rule is a fine one and I know a lot of Games Masters who use it. I am fairly sure it is already slated to be included as a variant in the Companion book for Babylon 5, so that should please you. Personally, I don't see it as being a big deal because very fe...

My turn. Okay, the balance check on to-hit bonuses seems fine to me for the classes that get a +10 bonus at 20th level. By that point, a character has transcended normal bounds of effectiveness in their fields and have become well rounded characters with abilities in both taking care of themselves a...

Great ideas, Gotterfunke! The problem with anti-grav tanks lies in their level of technology. While they are a wonderful concept, the tech base required to generate anti-gravity is light years beyond what we have hypothesized would be available in 2089. That kind of scientific application would sugg...

Psyclonejack has hit exactly my rationale for the game mechanics being the way they are right here. I cannot think of a better way to reflect the real world variances that existed wholecloth in JMS's wonderful universe than by keeping levels within a certain middle ground. Now this is NOT an absolut...

The language in the updated Ranger class (which should see print in the Point of No Return Season 3 book) grants Adrenato (the religious 'grey' language) as the Minbari tongue of choice. And no, KD, I don't see us agreeing on much any time in the future, but then, where would be the fun in thinking ...

Keeping this short and sweet: Monte Cook is a nice guy, and I like his suggestions. Having said that, I do not intend to change the level requirement. The fact is, anything can be an effective prerequisite for a prestige class, including (though rarely) statistics. If a person restates the level req...
