Just had a sift through news items on orbat.com, I dunno why we're calling the campaign kreplakistan, looks as if there are more fun and games happening in Lebanon. Apparently, IDF troops had an armoury looted, then chased the perpetrators over the border in Merkava's, only to run into a column of F...

Yikes, I am going to get in sooo much trouble for that last post. Apologies to Mr. Evil for a couple of mistakes wot I made in replying to his post, the Russian name for the Ka 50 is the "Black Shark", it is a 1-man heli, although a 2-man command heli called the Ka 52 "Alligator" has been developed....

Nice. Original NATO designation for that one was the "Werewolf" I think. Russians call it the "Akula" or Shark? It was originally the worlds first 1-man attack helicopter, but was only put into production as a 2-man heli with side-by-side seating. The 2-man version is in service alongside the Mi24/2...

This may not be the best place for this post, but here goes. I was looking around on various websites, thinking about recce vehicles for the british units in BF: evo, and came across this on 2 separate sites; http://www.army-technology.com/projects/future/ . Looks like the British Army has found it'...

While a bit of a stretch for the near future (and also not a weapon), I thought those that hadn't heard might want to ponder this site: http://www.emdrive.com/ Roger Shawyer is either spending his time on a pipe dream, or if it really works he will just maybe change life as we know it. He claims a ...

It's really no different at all from what all micro-modern players were doing at the height of the cold war with wargames. Most of it was speculative wargaming, based on existing units and vehicles and there was a mad scramble to field the very latest technologies in your wargames, even when they ha...

So, will the rulebook have a complete set of rules and stats for the released armies, or will you have to buy the packs for the unit stats AND the rulebook for the add-on rules?

Just curious!

Don't discount the French, up to the Gulf War, they were suffering from the same morale problems as the Americans had after Viet Nam, with the loss of Algeria.

Think the Gulf War, and their actions as peacekeepers has changed all that. They do have a strange fascination with armoured cars, though!

Swedish AK5 looks a lot like an american M-16, but without the picatinny rail on top of the rifle, just use US figures with a tiny bit of converting. Eureka miniatures do Australian Infantry, but more 28mm, they are armed with Steyr assault rifles, so could do as Austrian's. The Honourable Lead Boil...

I already play ultra modern in 28mm scale, and find no real problems with a 20" range as 'effective'. When you consider that in most circumstances, terrain will shorten the ranges dramatically, theres few problems. Apart from the well-publicised skirmishes with Iraqi armour, most modern battlefields...

I had a series of games against a vree fleet, where I took an EA fleet designed to go up against vree, and I favoured a long-range bombardment, with a kind of zig-zagging move up the table to keep slow-loading weapons firing each turn (1 from each arc obviously). After that it was kind of a "break o...

The Centauri being centauri have probably been buying, stealing, borrowing and/or getting their (once great) hands on the pick of technology from any race they can beat up 2 times out of 3. Battle Lasers they would almost certainly have "acquired" from somewhere, just like most of their "technologic...
