Re: Jump Bubble diameter and location of Jump Drive

1 metre distance from I know i have seen it in T20, believe I have seen it somewhere else to. In T20 and from what I have seen for CT i think, and Mongoose the jump drive has one external part in all of them, which takes no real mass. This is the jump grid, which I have seen used as small nodes plac...

Re: heavy missile barbette/bay/etc

I've just had a couple thoughts I'd like to share. The first one is are we assuming that a missile is constantly accelerating to its target. If you take a moment to see how many turns it takes for a missile to reach a target it looks like that it does appear missiles reach a maximum speed, then only...

Re: heavy missile barbette/bay/etc

I'm sorry, my mistake. I thought you implied they were.

In any case, still missiles today can track a target at such long ranges. So IMHO trav missiles would be able to as well.

Re: heavy missile barbette/bay/etc

I find that hard to believe in most respects. Missiles being larger, allowing space for more sensor equipment then modern day missiles. Most of those can perform in atmosphere range bands equivalent to Long and Very Long. Guidance they have is being assigned the target. Pretty easy then for one to s...

Re: Yachts

*Faints*

I think I'm up for designing a yacht for normal games soon, after I do some needed deckplans for my current game. I liked making luxury designs a few years ago, think I can come up with a new one for typical usage in most games.

But as I said after doing a few things first.

Re: heavy missile barbette/bay/etc

forgive my vagueness, I didn't mean a rocket type missile when I implied a non homing missile. I meant to imply the difference between a missile that tracks a target directly ahead of it, where it is launched it needs to be pointed at the target as well. Where once target is detected it can then mak...

Re: Space Travel

Hehe, Always find it funny that Airliners have all this equipment for crash landing in water, when everyone knows you are very unlikely to survive. Only one plane survived a water landing, notable recently last year I remember or the year before. But then that was completely freak and on levelish wa...

Re: heavy missile barbette/bay/etc

I believe I once saw a deckplan for a fighter. (Mind this was for T20 I think, but still had the pretty much same limitation that has been brought up here.) It had a single triple turret. Two Pulse Lasers and a missile rack. However, the designer didn't place the rack in the turret, he put it in the...

Re: Space Travel

I like the idea of intersystem traffic. I a campaign idea sorta popped in to my head thinking with this. The PC's form the crew of a Small SDB or a Police Cutter (From the Scoundrel Book). Think something like that would allow allot of variance. Assisting a merchant who's been attacked by pirates. S...

Re: Players needed for Shifting Sands

Coolio, I've not read your characters background, as at the moment I'm busy. Will do later though. But otherwise ok, except the melee skill. When its at level 0 its for all forms of melee. It doesn't cascade at that level, until it becomes level 1 for the first time. And also, I see allot of class 0...

Re: Drinaxi Wyvern

Both the Harrier and Wyvern class's were considered "Light" classed ships. Both of them used by the Admiral to attack supply lines and fuel depots. As said before, I found the above in the latest adventure. saying that both are considered "Light". So, that itself would give an indication on the ship...

Re: Drinaxi Wyvern

Been reading this for some time, watching it over the passing days. Something kept nagging me. Now I finally found out why after another short bout of research. Both the Harrier and Wyvern class's were considered "Light" classed ships. Both of them used by the Admiral to attack supply lines and fuel...

Re: Players needed for Shifting Sands

Ok. This is a commonly overlooked little bit of information, which I prefer to use. And is in the core book. You are allowed to use up to Cr2000, of any credits you have, upon mustering out to buy equipment. Any credits you have left over, you have those for future purchases once you start the campa...

Augmentation, would be as long as it conforms to the described tech limit, and is with in the characters starting budget of 2000. Did you also include 2 skills that you can select from the stated package? You can find some worlds in the information section of my campaign. Scroll down to a post with ...

Re: Players needed for Shifting Sands

Erm, great, but except maybe one thing. A starport rating of E, typically is just a marked area of, very likely naturally well supported, ground surface. With a beacon at the location saying it is safe to land on this ground. Very unlikely to be anything else, not even a fence around the place. It i...

Yippee, someone found my post, yippeee. Anyway, two of those roles sort of got filled, though another pirate wouldn't go amiss. No need for another pilot at the moment. It seems our new plot player is settling in well and enjoying the game. Heres a general overview of the current character skills Va...

Re: What happens if... we double or 1.5x the listed armor va

Right, been sort of reading, but I think I'll just start off as if no one else posted. Just to give something fresh. For me, in my view doubling armour values would make game sessions more about high damage weaponry then close combat as the winning tool. Though if the universe you use has barely any...

Re: Who actually wears combat armour?

And the operating check lists for scouts say that if found in a situation that is going to have ship combat, is to flee and jump away. And avoid combat at all costs if they can. I haven't seen them portrayed anywhere, in the materials I have read, as gung ho fighters. The most I've seen about combat...
