Nope - number of actual models is irrelevant. Due to this you see a lot of people using masses of card counters for fighters. In a pinch I've used the larger scale fighters (single model) but prefer the smaller ones for scale. So...buy these stands from timeslip - functional, they look good and you ...

You could cheat and glue a metal rod/wire to the bottom of those parts...how often do people look at the underside of a Primus anyway? This is assuming I understand the problem as well...

Missiles are an EA trademark (despite never seeing them in the show) so I think 3rd Age should get some sort of dedicated missile platform (ie another EA ship ---GASP!!)
