The data isn't relevant. You could wire any data up to it. The tech isn't new in the commercial realm.

Re: App for Generating Worlds

Just make the app so that the user can enter the variables and there is no problem. But, otherwise, you should get permission.

Re: XKCD - Exoplanets

No - we've had the tech for quite some time - just not well identified solar candidates to focus on ;) Till Kepler data came on the scene, that is. Earth sized planets were confirmed last year and in Jan. three exoplanets smaller than Earth were confirmed (Palomar & W.M. Keck Observatories using Ke...

On another note, maybe Mongoose should get a Pole to translate the CRB & HG into Polish and put them out in pdf format...

Free detailed deck plans?

Any links around for some good, detailed deck plans for MGT small ships. I checked at http://freelancetraveller.com but there is only one for MGT (weird considering it is the current version for sale).

Any leads would be appreciated.

"If you could what crew would you pick for the Prometheus?"

I'd just pick anyone off the street that tested as Int >4. That way I'd end up with a crew at least 50% smarter than the one cast...

Re: Traveller Fifth Edition

This. Very much true now that you mention it... I just hope it'll be available in the Netherlands, else I'll just have to order it from wherever he's going to publish it I suppose. I wonder how much the final book is going to cost? 60-70 dollars? It is a 600 page book after all... It'll probably be...

Re: Canon? Jump standard on fleet capital ships?

I read in a Wiki that Jump-6 is a secret kind of thing so that Imperium leaders get their mail faster than the Jump-4 X-boats can deliver. That wiki is incorrect. It isn't J6 drives/ships that are "secret". It was/is the fact that there are dedicated J6 couriers operating for the High nobility so a...

;) You mean something like what's been on the kickstarter page for a few days now? Just scroll down a bit, right below the shirts, it's a swag choice and option instead of the CD iirc... http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/traveller5/traveller-5th-edition Bingo. True also. Good idea. But, they should deliver on a USB stick if anything. Forget CD's. I don't think Traveller has USB yet. Just like we don't have X-boat service yet. CD-ROM may be the only way to transfer such data. Seriously though. Something like this with the Trav logo & colors... http:...

Re: Traveller 5th Edition

Current CD includes a lot more than just a single PDF - and a CD sized download is quite large for many. CD's only hold ~600mb. Are there people still on slow dial-up? High speed is available everywhere (in U.S. at least). I am on dial up - on a good day 36.8 KB (yes KB not MB) a sec - lovely :( To...

Re: AP/SAP on starships

Modern tanks don't have this weakness - it certainly is unbelievable to me. Such are still armored and 'no trouble messing up' doesn't make sense to me. A very, very (very) slim chance - maybe . For certain weapons. [In the past, I have worked R&D for anti-tank munitions. So maybe I'm less Hollywoo...
