God Learner priests--cult members or sorcery order?

I don't have Cults of Glorantha I yet. Can anyone tell me if there are cults for the God Learner religion and do they use divine spells? Or do God Learner priests only join orders and use sorcery. I noted in the Player's Guide that priest don't get Lore (Specific Religion) so I wasn't sure if they c...

One way to get a good feel for the flavor of the Glorantha setting it to hunt down a HeroQuest adventure. In some ways HQ put more emphasis on the setting and flavor that RQ did. Probably due to the fact that the games came out close to 20 years apart, and gaming had involved in the interim. While ...

Here's the introduction I sent to my players of the PBP: <snip> Sounds great! Please keep us posted on the progress of this (or remind me where the website is if one exists :D ) Two of the God Learner PCs started talking to the priest. One God Learner is a lower-class knowledge questor who dreams o...

Here's the introduction I sent to my players of the PBP: The river barge Light’s Glory, carrying meager supplies upriver along the Upper Tanier River, passed the last civilized settlement of Valantia in God Learner territory a day back. It then passed into the wilds. The captain, a surly Carmanian n...

All of these suggestions are great. I'm starting my play by post RuneQuest campaign today so I'll be using some of these ideas soon.

Is this brawl ever going to become available to the general public?
I would love to see Mongoose post this adventure online for free. At only four pages it really shouldn't have much of a cost. And it shows off RuneQuest really well.

Thank you very much. When Ian told me to write up a bar brawl for the conventions...I figured I should spruce it up some. I'm glad you liked it. -Bry You're welcome. If this adventure is getting run at Gen Con then I'm signing up. I thought the adventure would be some cheesey half-arsed kind of thi...

Re: Rule Clarification - Loss of CAs

Hello all, In combat, when either as a result of a minor or serious wound or even a fumble, a character loses a number or combat actions - does he also lose the same number or reactions? In effect, does a character he loses 4 Combat actions as a result of being reduced to -1 or greater in a limb be...

Fisticuffs at O'Leary's Place

I picked up my free game product on Free Game Day Sat. Fisticuffs at O'Learys is just slightly better than four long photocopied sheets of paper put together. Despite it looking like a lonely flyer sitting among all the colorful sixteen page D20 modules I took the RuneQuest adventure. And I'm glad I...

The Hsunchen are the primary followers of the Korgatsu in the Second Age, so there is totally no reason NOT to let your player try both! The Beast Skin ability is racial and more "natural" in its use, the Korgatsu Tranformations ability is cult-related and more magical. A good and faithful Korgatsu...

I want to create a shamanistic practice of changing into a wolf. See page 59 - 60 of the Player's Guide to Glorantha...your player's shapeshifting needs are there. :) You think I was gonna miss making the Telmori tribe more than just a bunch of emo werewolves? :) -Bry Of course not! :) I will defin...

Thanks for the replies - I agree it should be down to the GM. Just trying to get the logic right in my head. How could a player start as a priest but not be in a cult let alone of lower rank than initiate. To me being a priest would imply holding some rank in the cult. I suppose a priest in RuneQue...

Regarding your first impression of Glorantha - It is big, but largely because it has been being continually developed for over 30 years now. In your RQ review on RPG net you express no interest in previous editions of RQ (and that may be wise) but back in the early days it was not so big. There wer...

I'm going to write up the Telmori and post it here for feedback. One of my players may want to play a werewolf. Check out the Players Guide to Golarantha Sorry I should have been more clear. The Telmori don't have write ups under the Korgatsu practice in Cults of Glorantha II. I want to create a sh...

Glad you enjoyed the review. The review is not a playtest review so combat may not make sense when I play it. What I read made sense to me, at least until the new rules were posted here. Also rpg.net bashes every roleplaying game all the time so I don't let it get to me. Even Exalted, the big game o...

I'm starting in Ralios too. The area covered in the PDF is a great one to start out in. Relatively wild lands uncontrolled by either great empire but close to both. Elf, Troll, Mostali, and Chaos lands, the Telmori - it has everything. It is a shame that the the material in the PDF did not make it ...

Glorantha—first impressions

My Glorantha books finally arrived. Between the Player’s Guide and the world book I have found exactly the world setting I’ve been looking for supported by rules I like. To me, Glorantha is what I was hoping for when Eberron came out for D&D. But Eberron reeked of the kitchen sink approach, shoving ...
