Re: Robots

It seems, as usual, there is a gulf between those whole like the techy side of building stuff, and those who roleplay. A gap that's always been there and not easy to span.

Re: Robots

I just looked at the basic robots in the CSC and then just made up what I needed for the games.

Re: Question about learning Psionics

I'dsay that's up to your game world and ref. Doesn't say you can't, however every thing is in the lap of your ref and what fits into your Traveller world. We've found that PSI is no stronger than a good dose of hitech so it doesn't break the game mechanics, just if it fits your world view.

Re: illustrtion: Air raft reworked

Something I always wondered about since I started playing back in the 70s, open topped  . Why ever make a flying craft that goes to any alititude open topped? Are they mad? Canon be damned mine are never open topped unless requested. It's bonkers. Drinks, tablets, weapons, pets, kids oh lord ...

Interesting hook. What if the players find out the 'organ bags' are intelligent  :? . Presuming your player group does have morals of course.

Re: Ship's Locker: Out of the Closet

Well that was a fun nutty German. I must say I'm a fan of the flechette pistol and SMG in the csc. With the range and speed the snub needs to go I see no reason that it HAS to be a conventional firearm. With a 20m range using standard firearms almost defeats the object of the exercise. As long as yo...

Re: Illustration: Guass Pistol and Snub Pistol

Look way too 'chunky' for my liking. If I had to lug that lump around I'd give up and carry a normal autopistol. Sleek look is nice, but too 40k for my tastes.

Would be nice to see some ideas though, I like the ship stuff you do.

Seems like a plan that has a chance, down to Mongoose and the writers. I still feel they are neck deep in Traveller and Paranoia at the moment.

Re: Automated Ships

Hivers strive to keep actual contact of groups through physical means. Also the continuous 'hand shakes' is vital to keep the genes flowing amongst all the planets. It seems to be fundamental to the Hiver 'plan'. Virtual doesn't fit the bill. They like to meet, gossip, shake hands and keep the race ...

Re: Automated Ships

I'm well aware of what 'shake hands' means, hence the way it was presented. I am assuming these auto mated ships are used in the interior of the Federation, where meeting Hiver colonies and keeping contact is part of the culture.

Re: Automated Ships

I imagine the crew member on the Hiver ships is not vital, but a product of the Hiver psychology. They would like to have a crew member to 'shake hands' with on arrival to certain destinations. Along with curiosity of the Hivers to roam and see the stars. The crew member may well change on a regular...

I can imagine the Hiver have large cargo ships zipping about within the Federation with only a single crew member and the whole thing being automated.

Nice little supplement. We even already have a PC who pretty much fits the Neoanimist to a T. Odd and rather handy.
