Re: Core Rules - Melee Combat

A competent swordsman can also skewer you from 3 metres, even with a relatively heavy blade. So 2 meters sounds good to me. At 2m you raise weapon/pull trigger, I slash or lunge. Who ever misses is toast. On the whole the firearm will do more damage, but still dangerous for all. And 2m is pretty clo...

Re: Rapid Fire

I have a feeling that the whole recoil rules bit was not used by the majority of players. For what ever reason, either convenience, forgotten or overall ease. I know our group didn't use it. I tried, but found it slowed the game and for us didn't work. Not to say I disagreed with the concept, just t...

Re: Referee's Briefing 6: Garden Worlds

Few animals can be scary to humans when we have super death weapons and nature defing armour. To a city dweller going about there day to day life on the way to the shops for loaf and a pack of fags just one of them would be a trouser filling moment!

Re: The Vehicle Handbook is Here!

Ok, initial response to a 10 min look of the PDF is, FUN!

Not had a chance to chew the stuff, but a lot of this looks like it will get use in our group. Lots of nice non-military stuff for those of us who have gun-light games.

Re: Is it a large enough force?

That's pretty much the population of Yemen, which has the misfortune of being at war right now. With a police force of 2.4 million and the rest of the armed forces being nearly a million that would be more than 1 in 10 is in uniform! Removing the children/old and those unable/unwilling/incapable of ...

Re: Simple rules clarification

I think pretty much every player in our group has a PC with at least one stat with a - modifier. Makes much more fun. I'm always rather wary of point based systems. We always allow a little wriggle room when rolling ours, just to stop some of the more insane results, or to help fit in with the playe...

Re: Simple rules clarification

Yep, wait until the end when all the maths is done and then have fun linking silly stories. Does make it a lot of fun and gives good links for characters to build relationships on.

Re: Simple rules clarification

Hello and glad you could join in. For the connections we do the full character creation, with however many terms each wants/ends up. Then we link the players. this means we can link a 26 yo with a 52 yo as we see fit. So could be student/teacher or criminal/cop or navy officer/medic etc your guys ch...

Re: Core Rule Question

It's given more of an example than a specific rule on he shifting. Just an example. As ref I may off the cuff say, "it'll take you d6 hours to repair that" Then the player may ask to shift up or down. The repairs later on a for a specific repair of a system so use that as the basic refrence frame. I...
