Re: Wrack: Spellcasting and obscured. Or: Is spell an attack
Reading the Legend rules: Page 192, Range: If Range is augmented beyond Touch then the caster automatically strikes his intended target, unless the target is able to dive for cover or flee out of reach before the spell is completed. i.e., unless Evaded. As a general rule. In Legend Wrack is ...

Re: Wrack: Spellcasting and obscured. Or: Is spell an attack
In this theme, I'm with Alex. There are two different games, even they are almost 100% compatible. Wrack in both is a sorcery spell. In both too they are ranged attack spells. But there are two different rules and they do different effects. In Legend Wrack is resisted with Resistance, not Evasion. I...

Re: Sample Grimoire
In my campaign dwarves practice something akin to sorcery-alchemy. The great book of gemology (Great grimoire - brilliant dwarves): Animate (precious metals and gems), glow, form/set (precius metals & gems), Enhance DEX, Palsy (transform the victim in gold or other inert precious material for durati...

Re: ADVENTURES IN INNER SEA'S, USING LEGEND?
I think that could be easely done if you do two simple things: A) Reduce the number of combats per sesion. Pathfinder is more combat oriented than Legend. If you want to do all Aventure Path's combats, will be a massacre in Legend. B) You will have to change many D&D monsters for other more classics...

Re: Social Group Template
It's surprising how universal group sizes are in both civilized and 'other' societies. Partly to do with the ability to bond and communicate. Certain patterns are repeated in military groups and schools. Half a dozen is a basic family unit, ideal tutorial group, military half section/tent party (or...

Re: opposed skill in combat situation
In both cases I use a simple opposed roll, because combat's success categories don't have any sense. I don't remember now if there is some rule specific about this, but is how I rule it in my games. In your examples, defender doesn't evade the attack (both sucess, but 50 is greater than 40) and atta...

I guess everybody already knows that very soon there will be an edition of Traveller (and Paranoia) on Spanish. Long ago Matthew put here the news: http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51023 The books are almost finished. If there is someone who doesn't know this news, and is inte...

Most interesting and useful work - will be looking to include this (or a variant) in some things I am working on thank you :) Glad you like it. I will add other organizations which we have created in my game as translating go. If you have any question about the setting (who are the nivesian, for ex...

Social Group Template
I have been playing with organizations, making templates for my campaign, based in the Dark Eye RPG (Well, as I don't know German, I based on Arkania computer games). One on the templates is about communities and social groups. Its very open and I hope can be useful too other people. I writed on Spa...

Re: Weapon Specific Combat Maneuvers question
There are three types of maneouvers: Critical maneouvers: Bypass armour, maximise damage, blind opponent & pin weapon. You only can use them if you have a critical roll in your skill. Weapon maneouvers: Bleed, Entangle, Grip, Impale, Stun Location, Sunder & Take weapon. You can only select them if y...

Re: Campaign advice for technological cults in Legend
You could do something similar to Weird Science in Savage Worlds. Magic & Superscience use the same mechanics in powers, but change its trapplings, the way they seem and function in the game world. Por example, the bolt power, similar to Disruption in Legend: A wizard makes magic. He move his hands,...

So, Arn is standing a couple of meters away from Brynulf. Arn is wielding a short sword (reach S) and Brynulf has his Greataxe (reach L). Arn wants to move in on Brynulf to attack him. Since Brynulf has a reach of sizes more, Arn will have to actively close into Close Combat range. Arn has a SR of ...

Re: Common Magic and the law
In my games, casting any spell with a Resistance trait to another people is similar to attack him with a weapon.
Spells which increase your own capacities would be OK, but it's rude cast them in front of witness when you need an opposed roll against them.

1 - From 01 to 05 is always successfull. Of course you will need almost certainly 01 to get a better level of success than the sage. 2 - I fear isn't any magical object in the core rules. You could use a nature spirit to increase its MP (using the WE of Spirit Magic) or you could use the sorcery spe...
