Re: Fanzheinz (FASA) Deckplan

The six positions make sense now, although I imagine a free trader with a six man crew won't make much money. I would have suggested incorporating te gunner stations into two of the others and open up some space. I understand it wasn't your design, but those airlocks still make me nervous :D I'm pl...

Re: Fanzheinz (FASA) Deckplan

Really good work and a nice change from the usual Type A's. A few questions though Thanks, but I can't take too much credit for it as it is not my design. This was published originally by FASA , all I did was redo it Mongoose style. 1. If the squares represent 1.5m all the furnishings appear very s...

Re: Fanzheinz (FASA) Deckplan

Good job. The only thing that I would do differently is the plumbing issue that you have created. You have all the on seperate lines by the way you layed them out. I would have reversed every other room so that the plumbing was shared between each room. I am talking about the things behind the wall...

Re: Yet another Free Trader deckplan

First post updated.
I followed Sturn's kind advice in this thread and banged out the images in a higher resolution. Added a lateral (external) view and made some minor tweaks.

Re: Yet another Free Trader deckplan

Thanks for the recognition on the AutoRealm symbols. I'm glad they are being used! One suggestion. If you zoom WAY in to the screen while using AutoRealm before saving to a JPEG, you will get a much better resolution. It is a pain in the arse to do, but you can zoom in to perhaps just a room, then ...

Re: Yet another Free Trader deckplan

Hatches edited, check first post. I've moved the forward hatch to the right (that's starboard to you matey) so it isn't right in the middle of the common areas. I'm considering this to be something like spiral stairs with a hatch of some type. You are welcome to imagine it to be anything you like. ...

Re: Yet another Free Trader deckplan

I'm just glad you can access the passenger section from some place other than the engine room as in the original CT deck plan. One other pesky thorn I still have with virtually ALL Traveller deck plans is the over-use of floor/ceiling hatches. IMO your deck plan would be even better with actual sta...

I nearly put everything in a vilani font! That font is actually "eras itc medium", which I think is a free font very similar to optima.

Yet another Free Trader deckplan

Design Checklist: Follows the lines of Andrew Boulton’s incredible illustrations and artwork. (I regret having to make the bow slightly 'fatter') Total displacement as close as possible to 200 tons. Mongoose design (costs corrected) Include Air/Raft (a nod to CT) Fire control tonnage integrated ont...

Re: Mortgages & Imperial Dates (especially months)

As for the mortage, ever since CT the intention is for the ship to paid off in 40 years, so I think maybe split the payments up so that the actual ones are a bit lower but you end up with the same annual pay off schedule. How many mortage payments per year were there in CT? 12 or 13? Anyway, I agre...

Another interesting point. In Mong there is monthly maintenance and life support, is that every 28 days as per OTU? In other words 13 times per year.

Re: Mortgages & Imperial Dates (especially months)

I decided to calculate the amount as an annual interest rate, turns out it’s pretty much 4.6%. What rates were used in other versions of Traveller? When I calculated MT's 20 yrs ago it was about the same APR. I think total cost was 240% or 220% of the ship purchase price. Thanks. I guess I'll stick...

Mortgages & Imperial Dates (especially months)

The CRB suggests that mortgages repayments are made monthly; the amount to be repaid is loan/240 per month for 40 years. Great, except there are 13 months in an Imperial Calendar, not 12 as appears to be forgotten, Mongoose later recalled there are 13 months in the OTU in Libray Data. So that sort o...

Re: Prizes

I'm not sure that 'local law' would apply in Imperial Space, but I think this would almost certainly true if the pirates were operating within '10 diameters'. Of course you probably won’t find any self-respecting pirate operating that close. We know from the CRB that ‘salvage’ is permitted in Imperi...

Ironically most of the original Star Wars weapons were modelled around WWII weapons, probably not what you were looking for. Hey, I'm just saying! :P --- Stormtrooper Kit: The T-21 light repeating blaster was a standard-issue, rapid-fire weapon produced by BlasTech Industries. It saw use in the Clon...

Re: Handling Skill Advancement

Rust's system is very similar to my own, although I hadn't considered having 'easy, medium and hard' skill difficulties, I may have to borrow that idea. I allow the effect roll of the skill currently being trained to adust the number of weeks of study.
