Re: [Spoiler warning] Questions about Chirpers

Would this be the same as the CT "Secret of the Ancients"? I don't recall "alien adventures", but it's been a while. Another fun source is the GURPS Traveller alein sourcebook. They have an awesome section about Droyne/Chirper and the Ancients...which was pretty instructive. Not really the same, a ...

Re: Chirpers, Droyne and the Xenologists of the Chartered Sp

I don't know but I would be incline ot put in a potential spoiler alert for ther newbies. As for your question. It was my understanding that chirper are rarely seen and generally speaking unknown. And, again, generally speaking people mistake them for a different type of alien that happen to somewha...

Re: Different FTL in one game?

I had been considering this, for my Traveller setting, mainly because of where it is set. Essentially, I've created a new Sector which was colonised centuries ago following a misjump, and a huge 10 parsec gap seperate it from the closest star system. So they had worked on finding way of getting a 'b...

Re: [CONAN] Barbaric Commoners?

Yes, Female tribe members would be commoners. I guess also some male tribe member would be commoner...especially farmers/hearder. But aren't those people Barbarians first and farmers/herders second? Shouldn't they be 1st level Barbarains (not Commoners) with skill points put into the Farmer or Herd...

Re: Secrets of the Ancients hardback mising something?

When the reprint will be ready: how would we go about to have our copy replace? We send you the old one and you send us a new one? Or would is be on an honor system? IIRC when they did that for highguard we had to mail it to them. Thankfully single book isn't that expensive to mail(atleast wasn't f...

Re: Secrets of the Ancients hardback mising something?

Fourth, everyone who has a hardcopy of Secrets will get a replacement, completely free, as soon as it is reprinted (likely towards the end of January). I'm glad to hear this. I've received my copy earlier this week and was indeed a bit sadden about the missing chapter. When the reprint will be read...

Re: Hyborian age Picts

Is this news, or did we already know that? :) Yes and no. I didn't know about the Wichita being called the Pawnee Pict; but the fact that the Pict were based on Native American was pretty obvious -for me at least- by the description made of them and the type of warfare used. And in a Pastiche Conan...

Re: [Conan] The Barbarian (2011)

I think its nearly impossible to make a good Sword and Sorcery movie for the same reason its so hard to make a good Lovecraft movie. When we read the stories, we judge them by their own merit, based on the time they where written and the meme they were going for. When we watch a major, modern, holl...

Re: [Conan] The Barbarian (2011)

Now I seriously should return to my Kull Sourcebook. The one you're writing? Yes. Now I almost have all of the written material on Kull in hand (all of Howards novel, the DeCamp version too) and almost all of the Marvel comics (those I do not have have been preordered from Dark Horse Comic). Now I ...

Re: [CONAN] Magic missiles and other damaging spells

Anbd to a certain extain, "traditional" RPG direct damage spell don't fall into the Conan Universe. In all of REH books when sorcery was used it either fell into the Charm/Hypnosis, Summonning, Necromancy category. So dammage was always a secondary effect to the spell.

Re: [CONAN] Conan Morality

And so, my point...as Conan and his men are ravaging the Black Coast, he's allowing families to be displaced with their homes burned, Here I would be incline to say: Yes he would. If this is how hecan get the loot form those people, sure he will do it, it doesn't go against his code of conduct. wom...

Re: Further Adventures in the Westermarck

If you can Find the old GURPS

Conan: Beyond Thunder River and;
Conan: Moon of Blood

They both deal with the "Beyond Thunder River" short story and the "Moon of Blood" pastiche.

Granted they would need conversion but worse case it could give you ideas.
