Double and Triple Missiles

Putting this here because it came up and needs an official answer or clarification. Under multiple weapons of the same type adding one per dice for each extra weapon of the same type we have double pulse doing 2D +2 and triple doing 2D +4 which is fair enough. Sand casters throw out a denser sand cl...

Re: Career benefits

Ship benefits need to be changed a bit for flexibility. The 25% on a ship benefit is all well and good but for a campaign starting a sector where Jump 1 is as much use as a chocolate tea pot what are the options, what is a ship benefit worth if taken as ship shares or can there be something to allow...

Re: Power systems

Those Gunners need a full sized top of the range coffee machine to keep them focused :D As for the power cost. That one point is powering the fire control, the turret rotation and tracking systems, the auto load mechanisms for the missile or sand, the gunners workstation AND his coffee machine. All ...

Re: Buying a ship

Unless the new rules change it a ships mortgage is divide by 240 to get the monthly payment over forty years, you pay back twice the ships value in total. So you are thinking they meant a 68 million credit ship will end up costing 136 million? Yep. That's the way it's always been. Most players neve...

Re: Review of all craft deckplans in Beta

One thing that is making it hard to do the review is there are no stats to go against it. So the Fat Trader with 19 rooms on board... is that the new normal? It's not the old version, and unless they've made wholesale changes to engineering and fuel consumption, the design is just plain wrong. Ther...

Re: Far Trader

In most past editions of Traveller a ship has to be at zero speed to jump, I haven't read yet if that's been changed. I'm hoping that it's also clarified as to what zero speed means, as speed is relative. Is it zero speed relative to the planet you just left or the one you're about to jump to? Is i...

You cannot make another post so soon after your last.

Was getting this four minutes after last post, post now but that was twenty minutes later.

Re: Lack of Fuel

Since we are now getting into energy points, isn't this the perfect time to now create a fuel consumption rule? The idea that your fusion plant is either ON or OFF with no middle ground seems ripe for change. It's not like this hasn't been debated through all the editions..... Shouldn't be to hard ...

Re: Repairing Armour

That seems massively excessive given that ships now large numbers of hull, you aren't dealing with bits that are missing so much as welding beams back together and making the hull airtight again. For example the Subby liner has 120 hull, so a liner reduced to one hull still works but needs 119Dtons ...

Re: [GK Games] News and Reviews

Oh yes... Definitely looking forward to this one... :) The Berlin kinda looks like a larger Kiviat, doesn't it? Wider than the Farragut, that's for sure, and stern view hints at more small craft (at least three hangars from the looks of it). So what is the difference between a destroyer and a colon...

Re: Sub 100 ton tugs and man G when tugging!

As has been mentioned above, built something that is basically a huge Mdrive and power plant with a bridge attached. 50Dtons with H drive and H power, a cockpit and a few extra bits. A tow cable and you have something that can pull 1500Dtons at 1G, say the ship grade drive and gravity compensator ar...

Re: Solomani Confederation (Military)

What's the problem with that? Torpedoes are 2.5 tons each, a barbette is 5 tons, there would be no room for anything else such as launch mechanism, feeder and so forth. A Torpedo has a volume of 2.5Dtons for purposes of storage and whatever, doesn't mean that's how big it is and that can and in all...
