Re: 2300AD chargen questions

Persuade (Persuasion) is indeed the odd one out. It is a skill, rather than a Trait. Anytime you see the word Feat, imagine it not there, and someone giving me a kick in the head. Though, in this case, the Traits and Focus material didn't come from d20 at all, so that may well have been some sort of...

Re: 2300 and Traveller ship miniatures.

Sorry, I misplaced that "no" somewhere.

I don't think that there is any impediment to Mongoose producing 2300AD starship minis, just that no one else can. Nor can Mongoose license that out, as the IP belongs to Marc Miller.

Re: 2300 and Traveller ship miniatures.

The trouble is, 2300AD is already a licensed property, and I suspect the license prohibits sub-licensing.

Re: 2300 and Traveller ship miniatures.

While it has been discussed, at this point in time there are plans to produce starship minis for 2300AD. Which is too bad, as I want me an Aconit and a Sufren, to start,

Re: [2300AD] Errata and travel times

The idea of 2300AD ship miniatures has been discussed, but there are no plans at the moment to produce any. Which is a shame, because I would love a good Sufren or Aconit model.

Re: [2300AD] Errata and travel times

I did send some errata in to Mongoose, but I haven't been compiling an errata sheet.

I'll take a look at the travel time issue. I suspect its something that either leaked through from an earlier edition, or something that needs to be clarified.

Re: 2300AD is Back!

Listed crew requirements are regulation crew. In theory, one sufficiently skilled person could cover all positions on a Thorez, but it would likely be a bad idea. Commercial ships are supposed to run with a full watch at all times, and bridge crew requirements are largely irrelevant of ship sizes.

Re: Space Kraken

Since 2300AD requires a subset of biotech starship construction rules, there may well be a Special Supplement in the near future on biotech ships.

Re: Space Kraken

In the "Big Nasty Aliens" book for Core Command, I created a space kraken, Sacnoth 82-something-something. It was a fun beasties, rather like some of the ideas here.

The kraken described above could easily be some sort of bioship as well. <evil ideas form>

Re: [2300AD] Beanstalks

There are a few reasons for the relatively slow speed. First, however, a little more detail on the Beanstalk. The two Beanstalks currently in operation have three "tracks" One supports upward traffic, one supports downward traffic, and one is kept clear for emergencies and to allow maintenance rotat...

Aside from the map, no, it's not. It is very good, though. And who knows how things will go when we eventually do the Core sourcebook.

Still proofing, and working on the art direction. It will be in the sweaty hands of the Mongoose by the end of the weekend.

Re: [2300AD] Pentapods

Internal Pentapod politics are a snakepit, much of which humans can't even perceive, let alone comprehend. There are a huge number of factions, each with their own goal, and their own perception of humanity. Things to keep in mind regarding Pentapods: The average HR Pentapod is 20% smarter than the ...

It's the Ebers that have the 6-lobed brains with the thick corpus callosum connections between them, but the rest of how you write is in the smae ballpark with my perceptions. Key to the Pentapods is weird . The other key is that they always have a goal in mind, even if they fail spectacularly at th...

Re: 2300AD Tools for Frontier Living

Due to a variety of personal issues, along with a revamping of the colony design system, this book has taken me longer than i had hoped. It's with my wife right now for editing while i'm finishing up the design systems. (Colonies, outposts, spacesuits).

Wait for the military sourcebook. "Tools for Frontier Oppression"

Or not.

No title for that one yet, it's not even approved. May have to wait on secret project number one (or is it two?)
