Sad to hear it. When this happened in LA ~20 years ago, we knew how to bottle it up. Hope all are okay over there. Adding my hopes that everyone avoids the crowds/looters etc and stays safe. As for the LA troubles 20 years ago, does anyone remember news shots of Korean convenience store owners posi...

Indeed. Watching a light cruiser cut apart a pair of frigates was very satisfying. Capital ship combat is no longer a case of pounding each other very very slowly. Not it's fast, dangerous, and much more exciting. Thanks much :) As one of the players I can tell you there was a tremendous change in ...

Sounds like you need to be a bit more creative. I don't mean going off on tangents but if they have your story figured out then it is time to be unpredictable. Shake them up. throw out a Rumor that another team is looking for the same goal. Were they hired by the same patron? Stress the time critica...

Re: Some questions?

I was wondering if there is someplace I can get a general format of how a PBP game functions since this will be a first for me. is it usually daily? how are dice roles normally done? Etc.. I'm still not a damn Baroness :P Sophia is the granddaughter of a baroness... maybe once the grandparents, mum and dad, and both her older brothers die she'll get it... but with anagathics and not being terribly corrupt people, who knows when that'll happen.... Sophia looks up at the new arrival. S...

Like bees to an exotic and very expensive blossom.

Across the grand hall, the gaze of a well dressed man in his forties focuses on the growing crowd around the Baroness de Monterey. His smile never changes but his eyes betray a hint of concern, even desperation.
"Well, no use stalling any longer."

OOC: Mister Adrian Beshiir is in the house.

(Gun Bunny mode activated) As a model for a TL 7-8 Advanced Combat Pistol I would recommend the FN F ive-seve N pistol. ] http://www.genitron.com/HandgunDB/DB-Handgun-Detail.asp?ID=1786 Actually, it isn't a good offensive weapon if you are looking at knock down killing power. A good weapon for the ...

Re: Gap in the market

(Gun Bunny mode activated) As a model for a TL 7-8 Advanced Combat Pistol I would recommend the FN F ive-seve N pistol. The weapon uses a unique 5.7mm x 28mm pistol round which is a departure from the standard 9mm Auto Pistol round or even the 10mm Heavy Auto Pistol round found in various Traveller ...

I like it! I only read the first game narrative so far, but I am hooked. The location descriptions remind me of Blade Runner and Outland.

Re: Scenarios For Traveller

What other kinds of scenarios would you like me to write in Traveller? Some of my inspirations are listed below. snip Hence, the question. What do you want? Alex, Thank you for the open request! I am always looking for adventures that require the PCs to interact with different cultures/world enviro...

probably heretical, but I've found quite a few of the plastic SW minis are usable in traveller. In addition to fitting onto that "Traveller' look, I have used the painted plastic figures from one game (SW) to hook new role players into trying out Traveller. I let them pick a 'kewl' figure and descr...

One more vote...

Might as well make it a quorum; I too am enjoying barnest2’s pbem game. I have never played Traveller beyond the ‘Ethically Challenged Merchants’ or ‘Odd Job Squad’ themes but this has been quite enjoyable. The PCs are the section heads on board a warship; lots of High Guard based action!

running a doctor

I was glad to see this product. Besides being lazy I like having new chargen documents, they provide me with new material to use when I am 'playing with' Traveller and not actually playing. Additionally, I was just in a pbp game and picked up a Doctor PC when the player had to drop out. I ususally p...

[quote="rust"]A very interesting idea. :D If I would use something like this in one of my settings, I would probably add some "diplomatic" functions (to spread news and propaganda from the core worlds in order to strengthen the connection between the core worlds and the frontier) and some "medical" ...

Re: Sector Fleet

And it is written by Martin J Dougherty... Any relation to "Grand Fleet" by the former Avenger Enterprises? As far as I know, it is basically "Grand Fleet" rewritten for Mongoose Tra- veller. And it has been discussed before, although only briefly: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic...
