Re: Age of Treason - Updated Preview and map for download

Another question occurred to me: it seems that the Emperor is a (semi-?) divine being, judging from the cult of the Emperor? How does he relate to the the other Gods, from what I read it seems there's a large pantheon? Or is this GM secret stuff?

Re: Age of Treason - Updated Preview and map for download

Sounds like it might work with a bit of effort, then. Thanks for the info Simulacrum. Byzantine feel would work with my campaign. At the very least I can poach some ideas characters etc. from it.

Re: Age of Treason - Updated Preview and map for download

Can I ask about the world of AoT, how 'complete' or all-inclusive is the setting? Ie. does the setting cover the entire world? The reason I ask is that I am wondering how easy would it be to insert this Empire within my homebrew world which contains two (mainly) human empires: one that has recently ...

DV has extremely 'Assassin's Creed' feel to it mixed with the modern DaVinci Code type of mythology, conspiracy and pseudoscience. I agree that the gadgets are a bit too much, they just seem silly and out of place. It's not that I don't like to mix history with fantasy, after all I GM Clockwork & Ch...

I thought it was established some pages ago that charge does NOT take all your actions (except in horse/fly-by charge)? This is one of the reasons I feel increasingly frustrated about discussing this matter: 1) people can't seem to agree on how to interpret RAW, 2) people cant' seem to agree on whic...

We use a combo of miniatures and abstract movement, so it's kinda a somewhere in between the two extremes, I guess. I am not too fussy about movement, but we like to use minis to show positions etc. I think the way I proposed movement to be used would solve many problems related to how movement and ...

Plus the Deus Vult dudes would make great enemies for Ars Magica type of troupe, why not treat it as an enemy sourcebook? There's also pretty interesting guidelines generating cults in the non-Gloranthan sense, ie. evil secret society type of thing.

Yes, I thought it would be obvious I meant maximum of either 8 meters or 40 meters, but I guess it wasnt? But the inflexible thing remains, if your base move is 8 for example, and you want to walk 10 meters and the hit someone, you can't? Or, you can't run that 10 meters and then execute an attack? ...

The way RAW is written, I think it's futile try to figure how RAW works. The rules on movement and charge are contradictory, so you have to interpret and come up with house rules etc. Which is why this topic keeps popping up. And as Deleriand and others have pointed out, this is one of the most impo...

Verderer, as Deleriad says, it depends. I'm creating a plane of the Multiverse for my Elric PC's that will be more of a generic fantasy world, rather than be based on canon from MM. In this world my initial thoughts regarding magic are; Common Magic - used by Wizards (Lesser Path?) Divine Magic - u...

About the Magic system, I haven't actually used it, only read the rules and the spell descriptions, so my view may be off a bit (or a lot). However, like I said, there may be some minor issues when using them in a more generic (aka. D&D style environment). Firstly, in Glorantha there is the assumpti...

Sorry, I woke up in a v. bad mood today due to a night of mayhem with my children. No sleep and forums don't mix. :x Actually, the more you "sell" it to me, the more I'm not interested. Sorry. To my personal tastes, chucking as many genres and tropes into a game in the hope that something sticks wi...

Personally I wouldn't go changing anything in Wayfarer/RQII combat system. (Clarify, certainly.) Combat maneuvres and hit locations are what make this game so special, and if you go changing it, it will become just another d100 and would make me wonder why bother? BRP is already doing the simple ver...

Re: Regarding conan movie spinoff

I suspect that once the new conan film is out we'll start hearing rumblings about licencing deals, especially if it proves to be a popular film. Its going to take some remarkably bad filming for them to mess up a Conan movie after all I actually liked both of the Arnie Conan movies even Red Sonja w...

I'm a bit fed up with Mongoose being wise after the event. We had to buy the overpriced slim multi-volume first edition rules because they failed to grasp that people would prefer to have all the rules in a single volume, and a book where the covers are thicker than the contents is just wrong. Then...
